Gambling casinos are very good at ONE thing...sucking money in from outside.
Donald Trump says most of the world's high rollers are NOT Americans. The biggest spenders come to America from foreign countries and blow a lot of money in Vegas and Atlantic City.
Aside from that...casinos just circulate money around without creating any real value.
Its even worse than eating candy...which at least gives you a few empty calories.

LOL. Well if you think the article I provided, which is well documented and supported with verifiable evidence is wrong, then prove it with credible, verifiable evidence. But we both know you cannot, and this is the best you can do - spurious nonsense. You don't need evidence or reason. You never have, so why break a perfect record?
p/s Right wing demagoguery and political ads long on grandiose claims, appealing to cognitive biases with few if any facts and incomplete disclosures do not count as credible fact based evidence.Last edited by joepistole; 04-16-12 at 09:15 PM.

Woohoo...Joe made it through an entire post without insisting that Republicans are EVIL and Democrats are GOOD!

Games of skill are not entertainment. When I play golf or chess I am not being entertained.
Gambling is based on random number generation which is loaded in the casino's favor by a certain percentage.
The random numbers could be generated by dice, a roulette wheel, the gears inside a slot machine, etc.
I dont think it should be illegal, but it should be highly taxed at the corporate level.
Theres nothing better than transferring money from a pointless activity to things that are actually useful...like infrastructure, education and healthcare.

LOL, too bad you could not make it through one sentence without an illogical fallacy.
Ok, what are you doing when you play a game of golf if not being entertained? By the way, what is the meaning of "play"?
So other games don't have serious elements of randomness? Is your life not filled with random events or do you live in an alternate universe where random events and the Law of Entropy does not exist? Life is full of randomness. Risk is all about random, unpredictable events and the management of those events. Therefore, according to your latest post, business is not productive.
The bottom line here is that you are redefining words in the English language in a unique way in an attempt to make sense of your political ideology. Instead of trying to redefine the language to support your ideology, you would be better served by reexamining our ideology.Last edited by joepistole; 04-17-12 at 08:51 AM.

Corporations can be very destructive if they have a MONOPOLY.
There is a constant struggle going on between corporation's desire to endlessly merge into one monopoly, and government efforts to keep them separate and competitive.
Most destructive of all are unregulated BANKING corporations.
