Star Trek "Enterprise" Theme Song - an ode to faith?

I've been watching the Enterprise series lately, and thinking about the theme song. There is the obvious question of the style, kind of a soft country rock. When it came out, I reluctantly appreciated it because it was a little different, but now I think it's slow and douchy. Later on they slowed it down even more. But then I started to analyze the lyrics:

It's been a long road, getting from there to here.
It's been a long time, but my time is finally near.
And I can feel the change in the wind right now. Nothing's in my way.
And they're not gonna hold me down no more, no they're not gonna hold me down.

Cause I've got faith of the heart.
I'm going where my heart will take me.
I've got faith to believe. I can do anything.
I've got strength of the soul. And no one's gonna bend or break me.
I can reach any star. I've got faith, faith of the heart...

Sounds like a Christian song almost. What's the deal with all the faith? Did the producers deliberately choose this faith-based theme song because the show "Voyager" was too sciency?

Wake up spidey . You almost are bro . The night mare is about unfolded . You might even figure out why you follow a pack . I will say it one more time . The House is built layer upon layer. Just because you are starting to realize don't mean every one else is going to wake up and realize either . It is like pulling fucking teeth . Grinding teeth . Pulling someones grinding teeth . Fuck you think it was not planned ? It was . Old Farts planned . They been planning it for ever. Then each generation expands on the planning . It has root . Historians try to follow it by archeology. Real science by the the finding in the digs. Blows my mind how humans with limited technologies lived technologically. Primitive yes and still very ingenious . Survivors. We are the survivors of the stories.

The song, called "Where My Heart Will Take Me", is a reworked version of the song "Faith of the Heart" which was written by Diane Warren and performed by Rod Stewart for the soundtrack for the movie "Patch Adams".

That was the first of MANY things that pissed me off. I HATED that song and thought it sounded WAY too Christian. The whole cowboy thing just ranked. At least T'Pol was doable.

    Mirrot T'pol was pretty sexy
