ni-cad batteries.

    i have a screwdriver that runs on 4 "AA" size ni-cads.
    the problem is i do not have a charger for it.
    i scrounged around in my junk box and found a wall transformer that outputs 5 volts at 300 ma.
    can i use it?
    the batteries are connected in series.

    if i can, how long should i charge them if i made sure they are completely run down?
