Thread: Game of Thrones (HBO series)

I've been waiting for this series to become available on Netflix. I have it in my queue, but all the DVD's in the series have very long, long and short waits next to them. So I would guess it's very popular.

I want to know if it's worth the wait, because these DVD's have been tied up with waits for several months now.

I have enough band width that I don't need to mess with torrent. Also, I don't much care to watch movies on my PC, when I have a Sony 55" HiDef TV. However, I did want know what people who have watched it, think about it.

I don't understand anything that's going on. I thought winter and monsters were coming. It delivers on the boobies though, big time.

    Okay, that's a good start.

If it's any consolation, the bodies were so mutilated that you really couldn't tell who they were. Although the implication was that it was the boys.
You don't really want the answer, though, do you?

And just because no one has said this yet: Books were better.

I have finally caught up with the episodes, I think this season is better than the first one, and overall, this is a better fantasy than The Lord of the Rings.

When you realize that you can hook up your laptop (I do it with my desktop) to your HD TV, then you have graduated from the internet university. TV series are notoriously easy to get fast (just in a few hours) and in good quality right after the broadcasting time.

P.S.: Just to explain my set up: I "get" episodes on an older desktop upstairs. It is hardwired to an Xbox 360 downstairs, that acts as a playing unit with our HD TV. I use the program TVersity, but the Windows Media Center does the same thing. So I get to see the entertainment on the big screen, and I don't have to wait for months in a queue... Netflix can be watched via this Xbox (although Gold membership is required) or using the Blue Ray player, what is Netflix compatible, and also hardwired...

Well I found a cheaper HDMI cable and plugged it in. When I bring it up as two separate screens I only get a duplicate of my background on the TV. No icons or START bar at the bottom on the TV. However when I change the setting to duplicate screens It cuts way back on the resolution of my monitor. I'm not sure I want to operate the monitor at this new resolution. Can this problem be fixed or do I have to live with low resolution in order to get my desktop on the TV?

    SPOILERS:

I was impressed by the Imps strategy as well as his overall handling of the siege. He held the castle. Although it looks like the cowardly boy king will be giving the credit to his grandfather.
