I am so sick like that. I've been feeling a shooting sensation up my spine, my neck and my brain. There is less of a deluded feeler and thinker, the 'I' is disappearing bit by bit and the actual is becoming increasingly apparent. There is an innocence in me that is also increasing not to mention the mental clarity that comes with the disappearance of the 'I'.

It all started two months ago when I read this page.

But then there's the "me" that will remain. There's no "I" in "me".

But you were reborn many times as well, thank goodness for plastic surgeons.

Haha, you think I should do plastic surgery or do you think that I have?
You sound more bitter by the second, what's wrong cosmic?

I'm only saying that with plastic surgery anyone can alter themselves and have a different look to themselves as if they were "reborn" in many instances. I do not think you ever had it done as yet but only brought it up for just another way to become "rejuvenated".

The death I am speaking about is not a physical death but a psychological death. A death of self. After such a death one has no needs, no desires that form the basis of who I am. A purity and happiness become the result. As the recent wave of deluded threads to pop up in sciforums demonstrates that the attempt to escape the grim reality of the real world would fail at every turn and the best one can hope for is to live in one's own little fantasy, the actual world - a magnificent, ambrosial paradise - would obliterate the real. The reason we don't ever get to see it is because our defensive and self-protective ego and identity obstructs it. The feeler in the heart and guts infiltrates itself into the thinker in the head or brain, forming the totality of identity.

Sorry to dissapoint you, but pain will never cease to exist, temporarily for periods it will, but it always comes back, but you learn how to handle it better each time.

That would be an example of the cynicism espoused by real-world wisdom.

Many people can change their personalities when they really want to but many do not because they don't ever see any need to do so. They feel very good about who they are and what they do right now so why should they give changing themselves any thought at all? Life goes on whether or not you change who you are or not.

Keep dreaming. The self-destruct is there for a reason too. Ego and identity is pretty much what this physical reality is about. When you die for real, you will see how ridiculous all this is.

Why in the world wouldn't you want pain?

Listen, nicholas, pain is there for a reason.

Pain isn't there to make you feel bad, its there to tell you that something is wrong.

If you don't feel pain, then you won't know when something is wrong until it really, actually, 100% kills you.

Pain sucks, anyone here can agree. But its something necessary for us to live. If I don't feel the pain from internal bleeding then I will bleed out and die.

Nicholas, what your looking for IS NOT a life without pain. Its a life with the absence of things that CAUSE pain.

That is a whole other philosophical conundrum.
