Really? Slagging a planet in 1 hour with a single ISD would require 2.222 petatons PER second. ICS says that a single Imperial Star Destroyer pumps out 2.218 petatons.

In fact, in Inferno, I do believe that even more up to date ships than ISDs had to keep up a heavy bombardment from numerous ships to create a firestorm on the Wookie homeworld. That wouldn't be required if they had teratons--and it sure as hell wasn't a world-wide assault either. They only destroyed I think two nearby cities to keep them from stopping them.
I don't TAKE your novels. Novels are DIFFERENT. ICS is a giant book for FINDING THE YIELDs of ships.

And these were long-range turbolasers. If anything, the constant assault of that scale would actually suggest low or even sub kilotons, depending upon the size of the forest.
Yeah, just like a kiloton buttfucked the shielded Scimitar. Remember that?

Really? We're getting angry about a hypothetical match-up between two imaginary empires?

Nobody loves DS9 more than I do. NOBODY!!! But I just can't see getting into a huff over it.

Indeed. I'll tell you what it brings to mind, though:

"Osama!" The seventy-two virgins playing Magic: The Gathering.

At any rate, two posts edited and one deleted. I'm almost afraid of what I'll find if I go reading through the other pages in this thread.

Wait a tick! You're the mod of the Scifi & Fantasy forum? When did this happen? You're annexing fora faster than the Germans stomping across central Europe.

hell, just look at my arguments for the deflector dish. We are assuming that a hypothetical particle that may or may not exist operates in an extraordinarily specific way. And that it can be generated fairly easily.

We don't even know how gravitons exist yet here I am arguing that an entire shield of uncountable gravitons can stop a plasma bolt dead in it's tracks.

That's what I meant by fictional bullshit.

We are assuming that a bolt of plasma can contain enough energy within a relatively small space greater than or equal to many modern day nukes.
We are arguing stuff that is not even real science.

The death star was the most powerful thing the Empire had. It would be gone within seconds from Dominion ramming tactics and general bombardment. A quantum torpedo is like a nuke, as shown when sisko uses one on a planet, and the Dominion have weapons of the same caliber.
