What if God is actually evil?

People always say that they need and want a God to protect them and give them an afterlife. But what if God is actually bad instead of good? What if God actually treats us like we are his toys and does whatever he wants with us?

If God totally controls us but we have no control at all over ourselves or over what he does to us, is it actually a good thing? And what if you discovered that God is actually bad? Would you still believe in God or prefer there to be no such God?

then you have a radical different view of human nature for a start

If we have no control, what would it matter?

I don't know really but I find the concept of an all-powerful all-knowing being doing whatever he wants with me while I have no control over anything to be scary.

so you don't think he controls your experience of "scariness"?

    Weird.

If you lived next to a mountain and you had a suspicion that the mountain was actually a volcano that would explode and reap destruction upon you. Would you disbelieve in the mountains existence if you discovered it was a volcano?

How could you disbelieve in the Mountain that you live next to.
And how could you disbelieve in God no matter what you thought His intentions toward you where?

And if it where possible to disbelieve in the existence of God simply because of your belief in His intentions towards you. How could that disbelief be maintained when His non existence would take away the reason for your disbelief?

If you disbelieve in Gods existence you can no longer believe a non-existent entity has evil intentions.

The whole basis of disbelief in God because of ones belief that God is evil has no foundation in logic at all.

can a god really be good or evil, when you have ultimate power isn't morality whatever you want it to be.

You mean believers are suffering from something akin to Stockholm syndrome?

Why would God create beings susceptible to the Stockholm Syndrome if he/she did not ultimately find it a desirable trait?

If God is all powerfull, why would he allow negative side effects in his works?

Do you know of any positives with no negatives?

Imagine if a broken leg was not painful?

A tooth did not ache and merely fell out.

Uh? Perhaps he does find it a desirable trait. I don't know what your point is.
