On Weaving Parallel Threads

    I'm starting this one off in the context of a particular thread in one particular forum (Politics)- but it may be useful discussion more generally. I'm just quoting a couple of posts as an example, and fishing for ideas and comments from members and moderators about the concept, and about good practices generally.




    This was my reply, which I am now editing down to a minimum there, now that it's spelled out here:



    I don't mean this as a purely self-serving appeal to make my life easier as a moderator. If threads are posted with care (with a preliminary search for like discussions) then fewer of the best posts around here will get lost in the shuffle of multiple similar discussions.

    Doing a quick search before starting new threads, and using tags are habits that could make things better around here IMO. :itold: I've been guilty of neglecting these aspects of good membership myself, so I'm just sayin'...
