Who has seen it , and what are your impressions? What does it want to say and how is it succeeding in that? Saw it a few weeks ago, was going to post a discussion about it earlier, while it was fresh in my mind, but..I do it now instead. I thas so many dephts that it lingered in my mind for a very long time, like a good crossword that just need to get solved. Are the little children aliens, or a new breed? Is Desert controlled by them, or are they part of them? The double meaning of the word desert is perhaps also relevant. The slices of skin, what was the point of that? Like dna-codes.. The imposters, the glitter-rock band in the bowlinghall. There were so many lose ends left for the audience to interpret. They market it as a gore-movie, and it is too, but not quite. The gore is to allure the people the filmmakers want as audience. It's anti-violence. It also deals with group pressure, anonymity, the power of media etc, but the underlying philosophical message is far more intriguing. Which is the necessity of pain to gain illumination...?
Yes, they are weird, and that's why we love them. But I'm sure it's more to the movie than that. Thanks Q, did you see the movie?
