View Full Version : see ya around!
The Devil Inside 12-29-06, 07:58 AM my posts are being deleted without provocation, and i have received an infraction for answering the abuse of a mod, with reasonable statements.
this place is starting to remind me too much of america.
ill be going now, perhaps ill be back when things shape up around here....probably not, though. i dont foresee mods being punished for abusing their status.
anyhow, to all of you that matter: have a great new year, and remember that my contact information is located in my profile.
IceAgeCivilizations 12-29-06, 08:02 AM They just erased it, just kidding.

Looking at your infractions you've got one instance of a 2 point infraction which will eventually Expire, the other infraction was quashed.
I wouldn't get so upset over it currently, reminds me of how I reacted to someone attempting to get me kicked off a BF2:MC server.
Anyhow, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bT_JW-eseQ
James R 12-29-06, 07:32 PM Another drama queen.
And with that you've hit 11,000 posts!
James R 12-29-06, 07:45 PM And all high-quality, vitally important contributions, too! :)
Like this one.
Prince_James 12-29-06, 09:01 PM I wouldn't be so proud of driving away a member with over 5,000 posts, James R.
Redefine91 12-29-06, 10:21 PM Seriously it's getting ridiculous. ToR, Spurios resiging and now this.
invert_nexus 12-29-06, 10:29 PM Tor wanted to be martyred. I'm sure her and Ronnie are off in the throes of ecstasy right now. Martyrdom is a purely hedonistic impulse, yes?
Spurious reacted too quickly. Not allowing time for Plazma to respond to what is happening here. Hopefully he will change his mind.
As to TDI, perhaps he's overreacting as well. He certainly has no room to talk about infractions as he has been quite extravagant in handing them out himself.
damn, what's happenning round here, are you ToR's sockpuppett?
And, of course, Tor thinks people are stupid.
Come on, Tor, do you really think it's a difficult thing to do to check your ip address and compare that to your sock puppet's ip address?
Plus, with the posting style and content, there is really no doubt whatsoever that SheDevil is your sock puppet.
Was your sock puppet, that is.
You should count yourself lucky that you're not permanently banned for trying to evade a ban like this.
I do wonder about the apostrophe gang though. They're yours as well? That was a surprise, I must admit.
Redefine91 12-29-06, 10:32 PM I noticed that and I have PMd Spurious telling him to come back. But seems like the new set of mods has been having more negative effects than good
The same can be said for user infractions.
invert_nexus 12-29-06, 10:37 PM But seems like the new set of mods has been having more negative effects than good
That's to be expected.
It's not like the new mods have really done much. The most common tactic of the new moderation is to post interesting threads, not repression and deletion.
It's a shame that the infraction system had to be tried out at the same time. Either/or would have been tough enough on their own. We've been given a double whammy.
The same can be said for user infractions.
Are regular users still able to give infractions? I logged in with a sock puppet of mine to see what regular users see regarding infractions and didn't see the option available.
I hope that the infraction system is disabled. It's not a good thing.
Redefine91 12-29-06, 10:40 PM hmmm. Not sure.
I can give user infractions on this name.
Some people are just abusing it. Not saying any names because they might slap one on me for doing so.
invert_nexus 12-29-06, 10:43 PM Hmm.
Maybe they raised the bar on post count. My sock puppet has only a 30 post count...
I was hoping that the experiment was over...
Oh well...
So.
What can you see? Can you see when a user has been given an infraction on a post? A little red card immediately to the right of the user name?
And you can click on the card to get the details of the infraction?
Can you see a list of infractions given to a user in their profile?
Not saying any names because they might slap one on me for doing so.
Heh.
The fear.
If you feel you have been given an infraction improperly, contact a mod. Mods can reverse infractions at their whim.
Redefine91 12-29-06, 10:47 PM Yes when some post has an infraction there is a red card next to the name and I can't add one on after
if you click their user profile it says the post that got the infraction and the giver of it.
invert_nexus 12-29-06, 10:48 PM Ok. Thanks. I'd been wondering about that.
outlandish 12-30-06, 11:15 AM Seriously it's getting ridiculous. ToR, Spurios resiging and now this.
what happened to tor?
Nikelodeon 12-30-06, 11:17 AM what happened to tor?
Plenty, and I have the photographic evidence.

turn your back on this place for a couple of weeks and it's all change.
who said it's borring.
It's quite funny to see these 'goodbyeeeee' threads, I don't think anyone has ever followed through with them.
They always come back.
Here, take the Drama Queen test:
http://www.queendom.com/tests/minitests/fx/drama_queen.html
My Score:
You're as cool as cucumber. Even in touchy situations that could spark a theatrical reaction in most people, you seem to stay calm and composed. This likely stems from a rational, logical approach to life. Either that or you are just able to keep a lid on your emotions, even when you're flipping out on the inside. You are generally able to maintain perspective and see the big picture, even when the worse appears to be true. You know that freaking out before you really know what's going on results in the whole "mountains out of molehills" scenario. This is a healthy approach that allows you to cope well with most of life's trials, big and small. As long as you are not blindly optimistic to the point that you ignore trouble, you're coping very well.
thedevilsreject 12-30-06, 01:22 PM yay!! 25

Nikelodeon 01-02-07, 08:42 AM So long, and thanks for all the fish.
Zakariya04 01-02-07, 12:57 PM hi
Happy new year to you all.
I have been gone for a few days and look whats happening, all hell breaks loose!!
What do you mean TOR is not around, why did she go, and TDI, dont worry about it and chill, and spurious has gone too, this is bad...
I did notice that their has suddenly been an increase in mods, perhaps we should give them time to chuill out abit, or else their is going to be more mods than others.
Take care
guys
zak
spuriousmonkey 01-02-07, 01:03 PM I'm still here.
ToR is too busy writing her blog.
Devil inside is somewhere what insiders would like to call 'hell on the internet'.
Zakariya04 01-02-07, 01:06 PM Fantastic stuff

Happy new year Spurios

You should get an Oscar for your dramatic flair. You tend to blow situations out of proportion, overreact and make mountains out of molehills. While this might keep your life interesting and provide the occasional laugh, it's also got to be pretty hard on you. It's exhausting riding a constant emotional roller coaster! Both for your own sake and the peace-of-mind of those closest to you, you should really learn to chill out a little. Try to keep things in perspective - something may seem like a major life crisis at the moment, but will you even remember it in a month (or day) from now? You can keep your passion for the dramatic (a tiger never changes its stripes), but consider toning it down before you wear yourself out!
Hmm.:bugeye:
spuriousmonkey 01-02-07, 02:11 PM haha..my score is actually 0.
You're as cool as cucumber
leopold99 01-02-07, 05:05 PM why the hell is tor writting a blog??
because she thinks that anyone that questions or admonishes a mod on this board is banned, she actually thought the posters here would be flocking like flies to her site.
i know this much, if people do indeed read on her site that the mods here are unfair all they have to do is give this site (sciforums) a once over to see what a liar she is.
My score was 0.
Cool as a cucumber.:p

How the hell does this remind you of America? (i believe this statement was made to provoke a response such as this. i fell right into that one.)
SkinWalker 01-04-07, 11:01 AM I think I should point something out just for those that didn't see the thread in question. I did, indeed, give DI an infraction for answering what he called "mod abuse" in a thread. The post was off-topic and I already made it very clear that meta-discussion should be sent via PM or posted in the Site Feedback area. Moreover, DI issued infraction after infraction to dozens of members, most of which needed to be reversed because they were unfounded. This was infraction abuse.
Even after an in-thread warning and a clear understanding of what the consequence would be, DI continued to post off-topic meta-discussion in the thread. I gave him an infraction.
So how does this "remind him of America?" Democracy and Justice for all maybe? Who knows. Perhaps he didn't like getting passed over for a mod position. Clearly he wanted one given his rampant infractions and his recent answers in Stryder's moderation quiz thread.
And, soon, people will be asking, "Devil who?"

that so dramatic.
I've got an idea, why don't we get rid of these infractions, they really don't justify themselves, as they just make problems more popular. It works better the traditional way, when it was a public warning, a private message or just a friendly good bye banning.
Nikelodeon 01-04-07, 01:07 PM I think infractions are pointless. But we'll have to see whether they prove to be useful over time.
spuriousmonkey 01-04-07, 01:09 PM I like reversing infractions. Makes me feel good.
Well, if you like reversing infractions, go all out and reverse the whole ordeal. :D

America: Land of the free (unless you're gay, black, or Indian).

Was that necessary? Was that even called for? This comment could be in jest, but knowing you, it's hard to tell.

The brilliance of his posts can only be understood by people with too large heads just like me, or people that were dropped on their head when they were a baby like sderenzi (or his sockpuppeteer).
The devil inside, we salute you and your brilliance. That said I closed down the forum you requested reopenend because you didn't bother to shine your brilliance there anymore after two days.
Please give us a hug The devil Inside.
