i don't know if this is the right place to post it (the only other place with dream stuff is parapsychology, but i don't think that's quite right), but i'm fascinated by dreams... care to share some of yours?

    here's one of mine...

    ---

sherry and i go on some retreat or something. she drives. the first night or whatever we stay in some dormitory-type thing with just one bathroom, two beds. la la la. the next day, we wake up and head to the events. i don't remember who was there, but my parents were (although not at our events). we first went to a giant room full of people, and there are desks there. but first, there is a really amazingly high net, and the people are playing volleyball over it or something. REALLY high. reaching to the sky upon first glance. the volleyball ends quickly. i can't find a desk, so i sit on the side of someone's chair. remember thinking, "wow, i must be skinny to sit here," lawl.

by now, everyone else is sitting down into a desk too. i look over to my right and see an empty desk, crooked, although everything else is perfectly straight and gridded. so i sit down. it's a boring lecture or something. everyone talks about how they wanted to watch "little mermaid" but tickets are sold out. i say, "they were sold out long ago." someone else says something like, "lame... they're ice capades or something."

moving forward, and sherry and i and perhaps other people are in another dormitory-type room. two bathrooms, two baths. someone has a bag full of crabs of all sizes. i'm excited.

then i open it up and all the little crabs get loose and all start attacking me. pinching me all over, and it was not fun. distinctly i remember a bunch on my arm or something, then a bunch on my ass. a LOT on my ass. and it hurt. i sat on them by accident or something, and i could only hope that they let go just on their own. eventually, they let go.

i was making my way to the bathroom, when i spotted this GIANT one. the size of a footstool. it had one single giant ass claw and one that was much smaller. it looked like it was made of wood. it had WHEELS. that's right, a crab on wheels. there it was, rolling around.

it started to reach for me, or so i thought, so i had to pry its claw open with my hands, all the time hoping that it didn't clamp shut and cut my hands in half or put me in lots of pain. it didn't. and it soon rolled away towards the bed, where its owner was. i said something like, "damn, that's the biggest crab i've ever seen. and coolest looking." and she said, "he can make himself into whatever he wants." umm, scary? then i headed to the bathroom or something. don't know why. fast-forward, and then sherry went to the bathroom, even though there were two, we used the same one for some reason, and i had some vague feeling that she wouldn't be able to drive me home and that i would need to go with my parents.

Please edit your dream into smaller paragraphs, it makes it far easier to read.

I had a disturbing dream just recently: I'm driving, descending down steep winding hills and concentrating hard because the brakes don't work too good. I go into this flat (it wasn't like a proper shop) to buy some dog food. I order 40 Kg of meat from the woman behind the counter.

Then, I hear a dog whimpering so I look, and see this small dog tied down to the table and the woman is hacking off one of its legs. The dog cries out again, and the woman says to it, "Don't be silly." Of course, I blow my top, tell the woman off and storm out.

2 days later my dog died.

Dreams frequently highlight things that we've noticed unconsciously but not consciously. Perhaps your dog was showing symptoms that you hadn't recognized.

If you dream you're driving your car and the brakes fail, the first thing you should do the next morning is drive it very slowly to a brake shop for an inspection. Your foot may have noticed something and your unconscious is trying to warn you.

Our dog was actually recuperating from its second operation, and we knew that its chance of survival was 50/50.

90% of the time, when I drive in dreams there's always something wrong, either the brakes don't work, or my feet can't move, or my arms get stuck inthe steering wheel, shit like that. However, it's nothing to do with our cars, our Toyotas are faultless. I think driving represents control; the bad driving experience merely emphasises my repressed anxiety that there are aspects of my life that I have a problem controlling, or that are perhaps out of my control. When I (rarely) drive a good car in dreams, it's always a Porsche 911 and it feels great.
