I expect that's because you're new and a bit dense, SheDevil? Welcome to PSIForums.

    riku,

    Same problem here.

This would be number one on my list of things that have to be fixed.

Yep... trust me... that's not it Invert.

    Arrrrgh.

Sadly, this is something that would drive me to leave this site...

I need to be able to idle the page while I'm off doing other things.

Well, I just checked the reported issue on 3 different browsers, and it works if you check "remember me"! Except you click the 'log out' link which clears cookies.

Check your cookies setting and try it with different browsers (IE, FF, Opera) and let us know ...

A dense brain is certainly preferable to a 'lightweight' one. Which do you have

In some browsers there is an additional option of not retaining cookies from a site that have been cleared once.

It is possible this option is checked in your browser cookie preferences. If so, unchecking it will resolve the problem.

    To all:

Cookies is not the issue, trust me.
And I do leave the browser window open, just as I always have; when I return, I'm logged out upon refresh.

I've never experienced this problem previous to the site reformat.

When the new forum software was first installed, I forgot to click the 'remember me' button when I logged in. I had to login again to submit a post. I then clicked the 'remember me' button and have had no more problems, even after shutting my computer down and visiting sciforums again after booting back up. I use XP and IE. It would be a good idea to list which browser you use, and if your current settings allow cookies or automatically clears them after leaving a page. Since most of us have no problems, it has to be the settings on your personel computer, most likely cookie settings.

    Have clicked 'remember me'.
    Using XP and firefox.
    Cookies allowed; never automatically cleared.
