I can think of plenty, have you seen the inferior thread? Literred with 'threatened males'. This thread was for them, but they haven't dropped in? Why is that I wonder?

I also know plenty of career women who have crossed swords with male colleagues who were very threatened and reacted as such by trying to undermine them, using dirty tricks tactics. If you read the other thread, re inferior women, there is an excellent article as quoted by duendy which demonstrates throughout history the many things men have done to women through their fear of them. Meanwhile have you read Jaybee's reply to your post in the inferior thread? Thats a threatened male, or do you disagree? He wants to arrange for you to be gang raped.

I agree, I think it must be something in the childhoods that makes men fear women, maybe they had over dominating mothers or something? Any thoughts, any genuine women fearing males who want to enlighten us on their childhoods?

This thread should be deleted. When people are not open to criticism because they would rather simply blabber and vent it's counterproductive to the aims of having a medium in which people can share knowledge.

For what it's worth, I think that there are people who simply shouldn't be here. If you can't construct a logical arguement and a proper counter-claim, then you are wasting the time of people who bother to think things through and demonstrate an arguementative ethic.

ok, so not much feedback on the problem of some men feeling threatened by women.

Few examples here of threatened males I have known.

Man 1 feels threatened due to early childhood experiences
Man2 feels threatened tdue to cultural upbringing
Man 3 feels threatened because as a public school boy and raised with out female siblings, boarding school so no mother figure, females are an unknown quantity and don't seem to fit the stero type he was educated in.

Threatened male number 1:
Raised and surrounded by dominant females, no male role model.
Exposed to a lot of anti male talk due to negative absent father figure. This negativity about his gender and the fact that the strong forces around him were of opposite gender perhaps made him feel threatened, lacking in identity and inferior. Result, his feelings of inferiority , inadequacy were expressed in violence towards towards a female figure (sister) for 16 full yrs. At puberty he sought out a male role model, highly unsuitable but male none the less (oh and he dabbled in homosexuality), became an agressive male (not towards females anymore) but towards all males, he became an overtly aggressive dominant male. However when a female stands up to him, he feels more fear (harking back to childhood) than he would from another male. He has no fear of men.


Threatened male 2:
This male was raised to believe females have a 'certain place' in society, he is Arab.
He was sacked from a job becuase when his female boss gave him an instruction, he lost his temper because he could not tolerate her dictating to him. Her position as boss a female in control of a male was intolerable to him. What he felt threatened by was the challenge she presented to all that he'd been educated about male v female roles and his role was being supressed as he was being required to be subservient and carry out the females instructions. He felt threatened by her position, it threatened his manliness.

Male 3
Little exposure to women as a child, zero knowledge on how to ineract with what seems to him to be another species altogether. He was sacked from his job for sexual harrassment. he related to women in a sexual way only, could not relate to them on any other level. If met with a challenging female he would use his male power to try to dominate and supress the female.

Now I know you brainiacs will say this is all unsubstantiated crapola, go ahead, at least its thread relevant!

yeh, but all the reasearch is just opinion to, who can prove anyones motives, no one. It is as you say all just opinion, most things are!

I have seen so many clever well supported arguments in sci forums only to see a follow up post with equally well supported arguments, so the only thing I can conclude is that we can't really conclude anything.

Maybe I could trawl the net for an article on this subject (Duendy already has provided a very good link in another thread) but some clever clogs would come up with something equally clever an opposing the view, all we have is views.
