Hey folks, don't you think that world (US) gone crazy? All of you are discussing about possible Iran/USA war scenario. In fact, such discussion has real basis on present turmoil around Iran. But on the other hand, every scenario of such war leads to serious crisis on world scale if not the III WW. Tell me why Iran is on the table? What your gov wants to achieve? Does it worth of the efforts?
Or we are facing now something different process - have you heard about neocon's new world order theory - there is to big human population on earth? THE WAR - the best way to achieve that goal is comming. Conspiracy theories? Yes, but we can see how they realising now.

Because Iran plans to soon start sellin oil in Euros, not dollars, as Iraq did just before the US attacked them. If oil can be paid for by any currency other than dollars, the dollar is just a green piece of paper, with only the huge US debt to "back up" its value. For physical proof that this is the true reason, see my longer post two below this one.

im sure we do,but the few nukes we do have are onboard submarines on trident missles.

what people dont understand is,nukes are very rare, here was never thousands of nukes.

russia admitted that 90% of there nukes were fake ,america was most likley the same way.

one nuke is not that scary, hell, people still live in hiroshima and nagisaki.

    Singularity,
The UK uses pounds, not euros or dollars. So it doesn't really benefit or hurt them. Not supporting the theory, but just putting that out.

Not really. Most of the oil trading in dollars is done in London*. That financial center would suffer if oil trading shifted to mainland Europe as it was starting to (going to Paris, I think.) That is why France tried so hard to stop the invasion of Iraq.

No government tells it like it is. (The true reasons for their actions often are not so pretty. Instead, they wrap the flag around something more noble, which is false, but the popultion can be made to think is true. Do you really believe US is in Iraq to bring democracy to the Iraqies? If yes, would you like to buy the Brooklyn Bridge for $100?)
    ______________________________
*because the British set up most of the oil trading states by drawing lines on a map in London, they also got to be the center for their oil trades. They can also be blamed for the fact they intentionally put three mutually hostile groups together in the nation they created and called Iraq (originally Kuwait was one of Iraq's states, but when it was found to have lots of oil also, they redrew the lines to make it a separate country. The first gulf war was Saddam's failed attempt to reunify "his" country.
Mixing several groups into one country did make it easier for the Brits to play one off against the other and control the country with less men etc. but is giving the US great problems in trying to make a "democratic nation" today. After the ottoman empire fell apart, there really were no countries in the middle East, just tribes, extended families (Standard practice is to marry a second cousin and this binds the large tribe together.)

The reason people are concerned with Iran possessing nuclear weapons is that the president of Iran is INSANE. He has vowed to wipe Israel off the map and denies the holocaust. Allowing a guy who has vowed to wipe Israel off the map to acquire the power to do so with the push of a button doesn't seem like a good idea. I do not believe Israel or the US will allow it to happen, whatever the cost.

Perhaps a deal could be done to solve this.

The dealing being that Israel destroy its nuclear weapons and capacity to produce weapons with the gurantee Iran or no other mideast nation follows the route to nukes

and to bring peace to the mideast all you have to do is get israel to pull back to the 67 borders and gets the arabs to have formal peaceful ties with israel guaranteeing rights and eprhaps a 100 year or greater non aggression pact or something

I don’t think president of Iran is insane. Let make o look on middle east from Iran’s perspective. He got the power as 3 or 4’th of oil source. He observe continuous achievements of Israel’s diplomacy (acc to someone war is a diplomacy made by different way) – There was no Israel 60 years ago. At now Israel is close to achieve it’s goal – achieving whole holly land together with Jerusalem (a holy place for Muslims) and surrounded by it’s puppets. There is only some elements in this jigsaw which should be accomplished
    1. Sealing the protective wall far from east Jerusalem borders to dry to death Palestinians living outside the wall or force them to move out – by this way, Jews will get the control over whole Jerusalem.
    2. Get the control over Iran and Syria – as potential thread for Israel – logical consequence of previous moves – Afghanistan and Iraq.

If I’m an Iran’s president, I will make every effort to protect my people from near and inevitable aggression from Israel/USA.

There is a next aspect of whole matter. Oil ! Within next decades, oil will become liquid gold – too precious to leave it without control – that is a point of view of countries strong enough to force solutions according to their needs.

Taking into consideration whole matters, Iran wants to have nukes to protect their land – I don’t think they plans any aggression – they have got oil, they have got large country and every aggression could destroy that possession.
On the other hand you can’t exclude the case Iran have already bought some nukes on black market in Russia. The will don’t use them expect the case of military aggression – Israel is a very small country – only few nukes is enough to erase Jew’s dream about holy land. Is this a cost you ready to pay?
If that happened it would be 0,1% of total costs – every human will have to pay.

McCain never met with an American journalist. Within two weeks of his capture he was identified by the North Vietnamese as the son of CINCPAC. He was then visited by a French journalist, who asked him a number of scripted, loaded questions that were intended to elicit the response necessary to glean the NV the PR victory they believed he could give them. McCain refused to do so and was denied further medical care for the injuries sustained in his ejection (broken arms, broken leg, contusions, etc.) He (or any of the other servicemen held EPW by the NV) never visited with American journalists. The only American some of them saw during their imprisonment was Jane Fonda, actually, who as you may be aware was not there to interview the EPW's or report on their conditions.

In short you are as wrong about this issue as you are in your assessment of Iran's conventional warfighting capabilities (air defenses and naval surface warfare in particular). Your knowledge of both is insufficient to be commenting any further on these matters. Please stop.

re: blitz against Iran, oh boy how i'd love for that to happen... destroy their military and nuke toys and their ability to threaten neighbours... but reason is higher than emotion and i think it's gonna be worse after the blitz.

iran's proxies will do so much shit it's not even funny

besides, the US will again have to do everything, and it it really has no resources for a 2nd front. and there's no counting on NATO or UN or EU, so it's a bad idea.
