What are your motives?

What are your motives for posting on this forum? I've often wondered why I post here, despite the fact that I've been posting less and less recently, I still read many threads quite faithfully. I decided I'd ask what other member's motives are.

I know some people come here to learn, others come to argue, and still others come to just socialize, among other things.

Anyone care to comment on why they're here, and what they hope to get out of being here (if anything)?

Though most of my entries would not indicate it....I come here to learn. I do the same as you, spend much time reading thread after thread. Occaissionally there will be a thread where I feel I have something to contribute, but for the most part, I observe, learn, and try to take in the whole picture.

Personally, I'm addicted to 'topic oriented discussions' as opposed to chat for the sake of chatting.
I love to learn new things, and discussing ideas. I also enjoy disecting/analyzing/picking apart topics.

My motives for posting here are simple and unambiguous.

I wish to excuse myself from life and from responsibility by posting opinions on open forums. They are cries for help from a spirit that has been shattered and a mind that has been overtaken by its own ineffectiveness and fatigue.

Given my degenerate nature and overall desperation, my every utterance hides a psychology of need and defeatism.
Behind my every opinion one can easily discern a mind drowning in its own inferiority and weakness.

I am so ill and weak that any of my sentences can be deconstructed and interpreted in the most insulting, degrading manner, exposing my fakery and distasteful depravity, to the world.
There is nothing I’ve ever posted or said or believed that does not reveal how deeply troubled I am by my own inability to cope with my feebleness and how desperately I want to be loved and held and appreciated.

I am a sad and sick fuck, trying to feed my insecurities by attracting some, any, attention by playing female games and behaving like a total faggot.
There might be some latent homosexual tendencies in my subconscious, which Buddha1 has, thankfully, managed to make obvious to me.
I am a little girl trapped in a mans body.

My loneliness and weakness forces me to seek attention and validation on the internet. My lack of identity makes me excuse the void by claiming all are guilty of my sin.

Even this pseudo-sarcastic rant is an example of my deep insecurity and duplicity - just another vain attempt to discredit any attempts to expose my real nature by mocking it beforehand.

But, I think, that much was already obvious to everybody.
    Please help.

My motive is to keep trying to find new motives.

I believe in life-long educational; this is a motive in itself.

I believe, as Plato and Aristotle did, that education and knowledge are a good in themselves, and an ultimate "good" value to have.

I belief that all of us have an instinctive motivation to survive: though that motivation may become overwhelmed by sadness or misfortunes at times.

I am motivated to keep struggling to find the inherent goodness in life.

Others are motivated by the belief in God: and that is Good.

I am always motivated to help others in need, if I can do so without sacrificing to much of my own to make any other such further motivations possible.

I seem to be instinctively motivated by curiousity, need, or love of learning, to solve a problem, to find a cure, or to contribute knowledge or reasoning to settle a debate.

I am motivated to break-up a fight when I see one.

I am always motivated to stop and help a stranded motorist on the road, or a person in need if I see one.

I am motivated to travel around the world to different lands to understand the cultures and ways of life of people that I do not know.

I am motivated to follow the news each day to keep up with current events to see what is going on around me.

I am motivated to find happiness in life, as difficult as that at times seems to be.

    This is motivation.

I love how the real motives are danced around, while claiming alternate ones, in the usual human manner of avoiding reality.

What is YOUR reality? Everyone has a different reality depending on where we grow up, where we are, and who are friends are.

Thanks, Shorty, for the bump—I remember this thread but never bothered to respond since the question never really concerned me at the time—Satyr had more or less put it to rest... with his typically flagrant deposit of human nature on a paper dish. Vinegar or ketchup with that, anyone?

Ironic: and some would have us be force face-painted, just to masquerade for their own benefits, our more honest reasons for self-motivation.
