While I do not think much of religion in general and the Catholic church in particular, It is outrageous to accuse them of backing Hitler and the Nazi cause. There is a lot of evidence that they did little to oppose him, but there is just no evidence to support the accusations in that link. As an atheist, I do not agree with any of the religions requiring belief in a deity. I would like to go on record as stating that I believe that the priests, ministers, rabbis, et cetera at the lowest level of the religious hierarchies tend to be very sincere decent people. It is also my belief that the higher you go in those hierarchies, the less sincere are the officials. As you go higher, they are more like dishonset politicians than believers. BTW: I beleive that dishonest politician, lying politicians, et cetera are redundant terms.
