    hmmm....... I don't know... I don't think I do that

I have a very bad eyesight, so I mostly only look at people when they start talking to me,
and then I value what they say.
All the other time my brain just excludes them from view. I can see in more detail if I wish, but it takes concentration, so I don't do that.

What draws me to people is people who are interested in the same subjects as myself,
their opinion on the subject is not important.
The other kind of people that I'm interested in are those who experience the world as I do.

I think I can now answer my own question.

    Thank You.

What draws me to people is the realisation of us being one and the same, i.e., I identify the person with myself and since I'm always questioning my views the opinion is not important,
but the experience is, because everything that makes up a human consciousness is their experience.
Therefore I'm drawn to people (and not only) which I think are a part of my own self in some mental/spiritual way.

Good answer, and I would have to agree.

Therefore I am not drawn into people who are highly materialistic, and put a great deal of time, effort, money and thought into what is "hot" in pop culture, what is fashionable and try to live up to (or purposfully live down)how others expect them to act, dress etc.
I tend to be repulsed by people who care more about their social life than social issues.
I am turned off by people who put more effort into their image than they do their self-image.
I can not relate to people who care more about what celebrities do and say than politicians.
A LOT of this can be discerned by how someone looks, dresses, acts and presents themselves.
Granted, it is all surface stuff until you get to know them, but it is not hard to make pretty accurate predictions with a little practice and understanding, and, like I said, someone unwilling to reconsider their first impression, is a closed-minded jackass.

You really can tell a lot about a person by just surface clues.

The plainest explanation is BEING DIFFERENT IN A DECENT WAY. If not, you can also be a jerk. Being cool is in someone's personality, that's a natural born magic.

Ive got a right to judge them, they say they dress how they feel best reflects them, so as one might judge someones art work on paper i see them as art work as a whole and if giving my opinion on their art form border lines with judging them then so be it.

Am i wrong in thinking like this????

Did you notice the "i" in my line?

I choose to get to know the person a little first, before judging, atleast just a little.

Because, like art, there can be a compleatly different picture hidden underneath what it is you think you see, when the artist tells you his story about his artwork.

What makes someone cool? I am a 6th form student who has been asked to write a speech to say to the student body on The Teenage Social Ladder. Popularity plays a bug part in this and I want a way to say what needs to be said without offending anybody. Any tips?
