    Water,

You know how powerful phenylethylamine is.

    Orestes,

This neediness is going to ruin you.

Pretending to be her "Buddy" is manipulative. Stop!

You don't really want to be her friend.

    Internalize my above post.

It is the best shot you have.

    Ultimately up to her.

Yes! I have been addicted to it for years.

*Hi hi, am giggling after having eaten a few spoons of chocolate cream.*

But like most addictions, the one to phenylethylamine -- in whatever form -- can be gotten under control.

I don't know what the problem is, I always go through the friend zone to the end zone.

Forget about girls. There are more interesting things to do in life. Try to enjoy it. When you reach a point where you completely forget about dating, girls will THEN want to date you. Believe me, till the end of last year I had spent 10 years of my life stuck in the friends zone because I was trying to date. Now I'm married and I will have a kid.

But.... yeah. Girls like assholes that don't give a shit about them. But that's just a phase. When they grow up, the friend zone completely shifts to accomodate the good friends that they have. Instead of dating the assholes, they start dating those guys that were just their friends (if you are lucky enough, you are still there.....

    )

Sorry if that's a disappointing answer....

Y'know Water, I hear bologna has a lot more phenylethylamine than chocolate.

Fantastic. If only more people applied similar ideas to their lives.

Hmm ouch... well I should have expected to get flamed here, I mean I've been in these forums long enough to know how many cynics there are amongst you. Basically I started this post to bounce the situation off you folks, see what you might have to say, so I guess I expected to be called a pussy here and there. Ah well, some interesting insight from all of you. Made me think about the situation a little differently...Hah my friends think I'm crazy for hanging in there, some of you think I'm half-retarded for doing what I'm doing... hell, maybe I am crazy....

Well, it's not that bad. Some of the things that Russ723 are true. Others, I wouldn't trust.... for instance....

Never, I said NEVER, diminish their feelings.

NEVER pretend. Honesty and transparence are very important.

Depends on the problem and the moment.

True, I guess it isn't, and it only takes some common sense as to which advice to ignore.

You are wrong. I am, and please believe me here, not putting on blinders or in denial. She is a great friend. And yes, I do want to continue to be her friend. It was tougher in the beginning, but now things are easier, and I'm just trying to enjoy it, even if it isn't ultimatly what I want. STILL, I am not going to walk away from her and not be her friend, just because of that.

I mean for God's sake, some couples, married people split up/divorce and still remain friends even afterwards. This is faaaar less severe than that, I haven't even dated her!

    This keeps getting better.....

Now she's going out with not only my friend, but my BEST friend. I just found out. And I was suprised at myself for taking it so well and not flipping out...although it'll probably sink in later. Ah damn, hah I need a break from all this...

    Dude, I think you're fucked.

Fucked, fucked fucked. Wait till it sinks in. It'll be depression and anger and depression. Remember, it's her fault. Bros before hos. So if you're gonna shoot someone, shoot the bitch.

Do you like punk music? Even if you don't, go to some local shows and stomp punks. If you're lucky, you'll run into Xev and mosh her right in the face.

Hahahaha, I know, I am royally fucked. But you know what? I'll get over it. Eventually. And no, I don't listen to punk. Although I do feel like kicking some ass....

You mean to tell me your BEST FRIEND didn't know about your (I assume) increasingly obvious attraction and caring for her ? Repeat after me: he is NOT my best friend if he knew and proceeded anyway.
