Of course, because when logic dissolves and real answers can't be easily found, people must find a fabricated answer to their narrow view of reality. The blame of racism is perhaps one of the most overused cliches today. Nevermind the absurdity, when Bush has one of the more diverse cabinets in presidental history, he must be a racist because he's white and rich. Rappers and those of their culture can find no introspective answers to their condition in life, so they resort to the easiest and most idiotic thing they can say: racism is responsible, just as it is responsible for everything that goes wrong with people.
Did you even hear the song? I think it's a fair complaint. Many, many black people waited for days and some died before they got rescued. He's racist until proven innocent.
I think it has more to do with Louisiana being so unorganized, and many New Orleans residents choosing to loot, rape, smoke crack, and open fire on their rescuers. Why has no other natural disaster had this rampant crime problem? It seems to me that you're saying that black people were responsible for it, and I think that's racist.
I'm sorry. I'm as big a Bush-basher as anybody, but the one thing I will absolutely not accuse him of is racism. As white Americans go, he's pretty damn color-blind. The way he gets along with his black appointees makes it obvious that he's not just doing it to look cool, he honestly does not believe that the color of a person's skin is any more important than the color of their eyes. His daddy comes from an older generation and isn't quite as settled with it, but I can tell that in his heart he always means to do the right thing too even if his mouth doesn't always get exactly the right words out. We've been blessed with almost an entire generation of Presidents who put racism behind them. Clinton is a genuine pot-smokin', rockin'-and-rollin', free lovin', draft-dodgin', minority-lovin' hippie. Carter has a lot of faults but his heart is as pure as a Christian's heart is supposed to be when it comes to skin color. Interesting that these guys are all from the South. I think you younger people don't have a good calibration on what racism is really like. I hate to pull the stupid "When I was your age" thing. But my god, back in the 1950s racism was so common, so pervasive, so ubiquitous, so accepted in polite company, so condoned institutionally, so outrageous, and so damn EVIL, that America today looks like an absolute paradise. We're not that far removed from some incredibly shameful ancestors, and old behavior patterns become unconscious. Sometimes we do or say things that we don't even realize the connotations of. Those things die hard and don't say anything about us except the fact that we're not anthropologists and aren't conscious of their origin.
I don't view it as evil, although its consequences may have been. What "racism" was in the 1950s was most people saying that they did not want a multicultural society, because two groups cannot coexist by the same standards without assimilation. Some of them expressed it badly, but far fewer than our brothers in academia would have us believe.
I don't know if Bush is racist in a KKK sort of way, but do you think the situation would have been allowed to get that way in the Hamptons or Vale?
I'm sure Bush has a loving relationship with his dog, but that doesn't mean he thinks his dog is his equal. Only his actions will show you what's in the man's heart, and we've seen enough of that in Iraq and elsewhere. His only excuse is that his dad was no less of a criminal than himself, it runs in the family...
bush does like HUMANS never mind black people....or how could he do the wars he do, and complicity sbe a part of staging atrocities against all peoples wit different skin colour, nationality, age etc? some here have mentioned that in his power elite company are black people....well yeahhhh, itis polically-correct ish't it? but POOR bglack people and whit pople and ethnic people...what then? where would you say THEIR level is on hiearchical pyramic symbol....on your one dollar bill?

Western European influence has dominated the whole world, it's not a white thing. Asian civilization was quite advanced, too, and they are playing catch up in some ways as well. Your premise seems to be that no matter what the starting point, all civilizations should proceed at the same pace. This is ridiculous, civilizations come and go. South America used to be the place of several mighty civilizations with avanced astronomy and record-keeping. It's a haphazard process, driven by access to resources, the vagaries of disease, catastrophe, and war, and it's not done yet.

We are all from that "hut in a village with no electricity or running water" at one time or another. Some of us (whites Asians etc..) have moved on from that time (evolution) and found, created, and invented things like "electricity or running water". That "advantages" whites have today was not given, it was earned. The "advantages" blacks have today (affirmative action laws etc..) have been given and not earned, this giving of advantages to blacks has in my opinion been the greatest "racist" act that has hurt the African people the most. We all can see the natural disadvantages ( Low IQ's) that blacks have, I still believe that we should treat them as equals for them to be equal. Others believe that we should create laws (affirmative action) that expose their natural disadvantages ( Low IQ's) and show that we feel sorry for them. Don't feel sorry for blacks just because still today they are "being born into a hut in a village with no electricity or running water". It's just diversity!
bush dosent care about anyone who isnt giving him tax money simple as that. the place that was hit buy the hurricane claimed alot of welfare money from the people, so to him thats a few pennies in his pocket to spend on military weapons. if a high class area was hit where no1 is claiming welfare purely a consumer family, then he will save them because there profit to him. we are just numbers to him.
J.B, did you invent running water, or even install a system yourself in your house? Did you invent the generator, or even build one? I thought not, so why take credit for something you didn't do?
