Slate published a series of photographs of the Iraqi war. The photographs are graphic including dead Americans. They show some of those no longer living because Bush, for whatever unknown reason, decided to attack Iraq. If you want more war, maybe these photos will give you pause. If not, maybe you should go.

Bush opened up hell in Iraq.......

I wonder if the shock picture posters realise that they are acting out precisely the role they are meant to play. Appealing to the lowest common denominator really doesn't achieve anything, you know.

Left hand, Right hand, sock puppets.

    Your opinion, my opinion.

Americans are so insulated from reality, I think they need some shock to knock them out of their complacency-because it is reality performed in their name. And there will be inevitable consequences. The sooner they wake up, the better.

Those photos and more just as bad should be on the cover of every American newspaper everyday. They should be displayed in every American city. On every American news report.

People hear of death in war. Let them see it.

No, that's what Bush did when he went around peddling his "reasons" to buttfuck iraq to the sheep, who lapped it up.

many things acheive nothing, yet have tangible consequences don't you know...

Yeah, good idea! And of course, you're advocate not just Iraqi and American deaths, but the deaths of all humans all over the world, right? Surely you are!

In Africa, today, while you were typing that message, some 8,000 Africans died of starvation and disease. I don't know how many were killed by fighting and civil wars, but it's a bunch. And of course, there's the civil wars in Southeast Asia, too, that we must consider.

Oh, and how about plain, old fashioned murders? How many people of the world were killed today, just today, by murder?

See? It's not just the death that's making you post this .....it's some other aggenda, isn't it?

Naturally. I'd imagine when 9/11 occured, these same people were the ones stating that details and pictures of the deceased should not be released as it would intrude upon their dignity.

Oh COME ON! Admit that its easy to ingnore a conflict thats happening thousands of miles away and to be completely oblivious to the real consequences of a such a war. The news certainly will not show such graphic images. I think they should. It'd be a reality check for Americas, who desperatly need one. The point trying to be made here is that we can and do ignore the true nature of war, not just in Iraq, but everywhere.

If people were to see more images like this, I think people will think twice about what war is truly like, and what it means to go to war. War is a horrible, horrible thing, and while neccessary at times, should be an absolute last option. That way, people dont have to suffer 100,000 of their countrymen dead, i.e. Iraq.

but that suicide bomber, and those civilians that attacked our troops ... were hardly less than what you call war.

YOU THINK that those us soldiers killed those innocent people, and still do today.. well they dont.
okeypokey is researchin that fact as we speak... but he hasnt answered that question in over a day.
i mean, maybe by avoiding the question after its asked profusivly just means that hes researching......

Has there ever been a war in which nobody died? Has there ever been a war which wasn't brutal? Without deaths, there is no war. And without war there is no victory. Discuss whether this war will bring benefits to U.S., but don't whine about deaths.

I'm not being unrealistic about the deaths or whining about them. Its a war. People die. Who knew? But to see how they died and to see a soldier or a civilian actually dead in a picture is something completely different. Whether you're for the war or against it, people should be made aware what the price is for such a conflict. It should not be hidden.

You don't know human nature very well, do you? We have murders and vicious assaults that occur every single day within a few miles of where most of us live .....and we ignore it as much as possible!

And the idea that we "should" be made aware..... is just another long string of "shoulda", "coulda", "woulda" things that poeple say - mostly don't mean it or are hypocritical about it.

Humans have been seeing death and destruction in conflicts and war since apes first learned to walk upright on the African plains! ...and you expect that a few photos will suddenly change us?

Just for the fun of it, check the amount of money that's being spent on entertainment in your area/nation ....then consider that when people complain about the high cost of, say, gasoline or oil or electricity!
