If you could go to the Olympics for one event...what would it be? If you could add one event to the Olympics...? As for me...I don't know what I would add, but I would go for Archery...it's a bigtime interest of mine.
The olympics are a business. The myth of the true "sportsman" (or woman) is propigated to get sponsors.
I'd go for synchornized swimming and on India's team...thats one country that shows up every olympics and does nothing for the duration of the events...they just come to hang out.
If you could go to the Olympics for one event...what would it be? The womens gymnastics during the summer oylmpics and the pairs ice skating during the winter events. If you could add one event to the Olympics...? The X games for the summer and snowmobile races for the winter
I would go to see women's beach volleyball (I can't help it, I am a man, and they slap each others' asses) if I could add one event, it would be the "Weight for Height" toss. its a "highland game" where you have a 56lb (25.4kg) weight with a ring on top, which you throw almost vertically over a bar (like the pole vault bar). if you knock the bar down, your throw does not count, and you have to make sure the thing does not land on you in the event of a bad toss. the record is over 20ft (6m). either that or the caber toss, but I think the object of that is simply to get it to land straight, which is a lot of luck, where as the "weight for height" is more physical.
Men's (or women's) 100m sprint finals. Where last few milli-seconds of the final second would decide who is the fastest man (or woman) officially on the earth.
why sprinting? do u actualy like the idea of a race thats decided by fractions of a second too small for the competitors to perceive? how about a marathon, theres a real event...26 (and change) miles of pure grit and agony, won not by who leans at the line, but by whos willing to suffer the most for it
(Men's) Gymnastics is the most fascinating I think. Incredible training must go into building that sort of strength and body control. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Imagine having to do that when one slip up throws 4 years of training into the dustbin.
I would compete at Sudoku but i agree with cato in wanting to see Ladies volleyball, as for the winter i would love to see uphill skiing, it's very difficult but quite fun, they should do a marathon of that
