Most likley. But what does the Automatic Rifle-toting individual do the rest of the day? How content is he with his life? How afraid is he of his death? What does he eat? What does he drink? Who does he spend time with? There is more to martial arts than punching and kicking.
you can't take a automatic rifle with you everywhere, you are never without your hands and feet. its not like I am going to fight a war with taekwondo against people with machine guns.
Interesting you say that cause of course you dont' plan it that way but you have your thousand round a minute gun and you are doing house to house ethnic cleansing or whatever your reason for killing off whomever and you round a corner your gun jams his is manuevering towards you and not pointed at you yet. Or you are on ambush detail and come up upon a sentry you have a knife you didn't study how to use and a noisey gun. or you are holding a hill that gets overrun by thousands of other enemies and they are all over your postion running past you (this happened in vietnam from time to time ) do you shoot anyway with your friendly troops around or at times when u can't shoot do you use hand to hand skills? Do you think it is a waste of time for police academies to use martial arts too since they carry guns? Sure given the choice with no constraints using a firearm over a hand to hand technique is the way to go but if I were involved with professions that used firearms I would certainly want a back up system for when firing a gun was not feasible.
Depends. Is it stored in a box? Is it loaded? Is the safety off? Is the shooter hidden? Is it pointed right at the martial artist? Because there are many things a martial artist can do in that situation. The martial artist I know is also proficient in such weapons too, having been in the army.
understand the tao (dao) then u understand everything. Brute force conflicts with the natural way, swift flowing power when relaxed is alot more formidible than aggressive ridged movements. You should not meet force with force, simply flow with the river instead of trying to colide head on with brute strenth, to every martial arts practitioner please learn the way of tai chi, qi qong and the tao (dao) dont confuse the fluid motions of tai chi as a "flowery style" it is anything but that, learn the basics of chi (qi) start with energy balls, brush strokes, chi cultivation, and jin strenthening. you should find sufficient knowledge on the internet please real martial artists learn the true way im not trying to preach i speak from experience.
maybe so but in alot of cases its true. some people might wish to train with an inferior school of teaching, then realise after a few years the things they learn wasnt that great and the teacher was out for your money, more tan to make you a good martial arts apprentice.
