Well, as most of you know, Wednesday night Karl Rove made some stupid comments, some of which I will list below:

^- Remember, this is at an event just a couple miles from ground zero.

I bolded that final line because I think that that is the stupidest thing he said, the rest I just see as him being himself...

Many Dems are now up in arms as they are saying that this was just a pathetic attempt to get some laughs that is having the serious effect of further dividing our country.

Me personally? Just shows what an idiot Karl Rove is. Although we all already knew that, so nothing new. Why is everyone acting so shocked that he said this stuff? We all know he thinks it, better he gets it out in the open so we all know where he stands. I think he just needs to realize that people are actually going to hear what he says, he is, after all, quite a high political figur, and what he says, as much as this sucks, does matter.

    Any comments?

Yes, one. All you've done is called Rove a moron. Can you actually provide facts and ideas to back up your thoughts on his position?

Wow, learn something everyday. I didn't realized Republicans had interest in facts or ideas. If this catches on, it could doom the Republican Party.

Sure thing. My idea that Rove was a moron in this issue stems from the fact that he, as a very important political figure that is supposed to be helping to guide our nation, stood up and just flamed on liberals about the 9/11 attacks while being only miles from ground zero. I believe that if he were a responsible leader, he would not have done something that would, again, place the Dems and Reps on opposite sides of the political battlefield. The two parties should be working together, not against each other, and he as a leader of our country should know better than to making the kinds of insults he did.

Although I realize that you are only kidding, I am starting to feel that the political section is filled with people just taking stupid "just kidding" jabs at those they disagree with. I would really like to see the forum, especially the politcal section since that is the section that I feel most stimulated by, be a little more full of discussion and a little less filled with "well you're stupid so I guess I win".

I know a lot of the older members of the forum avoid the political section because they feel like everyone here acts childish, which I can't exactly argue with. So how about we all try be a little more objective and open to discussion?

PS. Sorry I had to single you out, I know you don't do this often, but I have to start somewhere, don't I?

Jagger, you only prove my point.

jlocke, I agree. Rove should not have made those comments so close to ground zero. And any responsible leader or politcal figure would have seen that.

Its only idiocy through arrogance. He sees the finish line, he knows the neocons have pretty much absolute power. Any illusion of freedom for *us* is now is only that, illusion. He can say whatever the f*ck he wants. They have won. The depth to which they have won will become more and more apparent over the next few years.

all of 62,040,610 neocons have won... those neocons who now have majorities in both the house and the senate, and who have reconfirmed they want the Master Chimp to continue being president

    the neocons have unmistakeably won

re: Rove's comments, check this out, and tell me how is it different than what Rove has said? and what does it have to do with him saying it close to Ground Zero? his comments were not disrespectful towards the victims

You are right, no different. I do, like you, think that RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman should not have said those comments about Karl Rove's comments because that too further split the two parties.
