For the first week I seriously missed this site. I'd get an idea, or a thought, or wonder what ya'll were thinking, but of course, all I'd get was the database error.

I began to think that the explosives thread caught flak from Homeland Security and the whole thread was shut down as it was a hotbed for dissidents.

I missed it like when you first break up with a girlfriend. I'd be thinking that I was gonna go do something with Sciforums, then realize we weren't going out anymore and she'd stopped taking my calls. I'd get that sinking feeling.

I'd wake up in the middle of the night, and turn over expecting the warm glow of Sci to be there. But no, the monitor was cold and blank. Going to bed alone. Problems with the head noise.

    I developed a drinking problem.

Then, here Sci is, back on my screen. But I don't want much to do with her anymore. I got out, met real people. Fostered some relationships. Found real cripples and cancer kids to make fun of. Some dogs to kick.

I can see myself coming back to Sci, just not right now. I need some space. I need to work out my own philosophy; try to tone down my misanthropy.

Who knows, I might fall right back to seven posts a day, constantly refreshing the browser to see if there are any new posts.

But it's good to be back.

    I know how you feel.

When it went down I use to check like 4 times a day if it was up and again....now that it is up I have lost almost all of my desire for the place. I can't eve nbring myself to read any post longer than a paragraph.

Im never gonna leave the place but i'll be a lurker now.

Although I've posted quite a lot since SF is back online, there is a strange feeling creeping up.

As SF was down, I haven't checked here much. Due a good information supply, I found out what happened a few days after the crash. About a hundred Sciforum refugees then went to tent on another forum.

And that's where I've begun to first feel that creeper come closer and closer. I haven't yet figured out what exactly it is, but it stays my fingers as I type.

Keep me updated on that. And it'd be interesting to figure out if it's happening to other people as well.

I have the creepers as well. The last time I felt this way I looked up to see a mountain lion on a rock shelf about 60 feet above me. Perhaps this thread should be transferred to a more prominent location.

    Water,

That's just a yeast infection... or maybe your panties... or a tapeworm...
    Heh.
Anyway. I think that the thing is that the place was going through a slump and then the hiatus made people kick their addictions to this place somewhat. Loosened its hold, so to speak. So, with the lessened addiction, the summer sun calls more strongly than it did last summer.

Even over at the other place the posting urge never really kicked in strongly. The most posting that took place over there was in the religion forum. The same thing appears to be going on here. Religion is going strong and the rest is kinda blah.

It'll come back. We just need a.) some time off b.) fresh meat.

A is necessary because the topics have become stale after a while.
B would invigorate the topics somewhat. But, we need good fresh meat. Not just some old hamburger, but filet mignon. Or some veal... Mmm. Baby cow....
We've become vampires, in a way. Perhaps that's what's creeping you out.

What does the thought of draining souls do to you?

    The flesh of the living...

Vampires, yes. Vampiring on time and hearts.

The thought of draining souls makes *me* a desert. I must get back to myself now.

May be the realisation that your water bubble can burst anytime like what happened to sciforums (your intellectual e-world) overnight.

No. It's more like a profound realisation that it is all much ado about nothing, and that I should rather be off sewing a delightful blanket for my cat.

Is it just me, or did sciforums suffer from a sudden drop in IQ points?

    I lied.

    What an abusive relationship.
