Hi. I was wondering how you find the distance between a plane (spanned by 2 sets of points) and a third point outside the set. Can somone please help me, I am someone confused, because this is not in my linear algebra book, or if it is im having trouble identifying it.

    Thx.

Formula # (24) in this page would help.

Now that you see the equation ColonelKlink1701, do you think you can derive it? There are a few different ways of doing it, if you'd like some hints just ask.

I think i get it. That equation is the normalized vector right? (divided by its lengt so that its equal to 1)?

You just find the vector normal to the plane and dot it with the vector of interest.
