Dear Islamist, I would like to understand you religion as it compares to other religions. Please review the attached chart, and help me correct any innacuracies about Islam. I sincerrely apologize if I got anything wrong. Please help me to ask the right questions so Islam is given a fair standing in your view of the world. If I need to modify or add questions, please let me know. Also, may I please ask that you look at the other religions, which I might not have correctly represented. May you speak for Allah. Scorpius, Thanks for the web link. I have reviewed it and I an't really tell if it's a christian web site or a muslim web site. I'd like a muslim to speak for the beliefs of his religion.
Hmmm, woody. I really appreciate what you're trying to do with your chart, but it is not doing any justice to the complexity of religions. You admit it is from a christian/judeo/muslim perspective, but i would even say it is from a christian perspective. A chart like this can not give a good view of a religion, neither does a discussion with one single muslim. But it is better than nothing. P.S. sacred texts in Islam is Qur'an plus Sira (biograhy of the Prophet) and Hadith (sayings+ of the Prophet)
Thanks Kned, I plan to have footnotes at the bottom of the chart whereby the Religions can point out the weaknesses in the chart, and make their own case. I will try to fix the chart accordingly, otherwise their comment remains a footnote. Footnotes ARE important.
Instead of making charts with footnotes that coud fill up a whole book (to be correct), you could also read a good book about islam or world religions... I'm sorry if i sound a little bit hard, but really, charts can not capture a religions essence.
Yes Kned, I understand where you are coming from. This is a tough project, but I think it can be done. How can it be understandable, fair, representative, and comparable? That is a hard task, and then there is all the bias to deal with, which everyone has including myself. I am trying to be open.

The current definition is not that one. A believer in Islam is called Muslim. A believer in Islamism is called Islamist.
Ok, some notes regarding this motivation: there are to much religions to be compared. You can not give borders for a single religion, in fact there are no 2 believers who believe the same. There are too much sects and denominations in every religion. Still, if you would succeed in making a fair list of religions and sects, then you have to make a fair lists of 'points' you would like to compare. Again impossible, there are too much points, you can not separate them from one another, and no point is the same in 2 religions. Third problem, to answer the question about religion x and point y, you will probably have to read a few books for a good answer, and need another book to write it down. Sorry I am this pessimistic. Studying religions is daily business for me, and will be for the next 4 or 5 years, if you could finish that chart correctly, let me know, it will save me a lot of studying.
