ESP may very well be real, but it has not been demonstrated in a satisfactory way. Don't take it personally, duendy... Something to add: as we make scientific/technological progress, we realize that what was once considered 'mystical' is now common and easily explainable: that isn't to say there are no such things as otherworldly dimensions, ESP and everything else of a spiritual nature, but keep that in mind when you speak of things 'mysterious' and 'unexplainable'.

I used the word genius in the meaning of someone with a high iq. Respectively, high and low iq's, relative to the average. If I remember correctly 3 deviations away from average is considered gifted. It's just a border though, it's not like there's a big difference between a person with 5 points below that and one with exactly that.

Name a correlation that is 100%. IQ is not a perfect measurement of intelligence, but it is the best we have. IQ is also the best indicator of how well a child will perform is school -- The best. Better than grades, better than SAT scores, better than SES, it is the best. IQ is also the best indicator of how many children somone will have. IQ is the best indicator for many things of that type. It is by no means perfect, there are very few (if any) correlations that are even .5, but it is the best we have.
You need to keep in mind that "perfect" and "the best we have" are not synonyms. The IQ is the best test we have for intelligence. It is also the best indicator we have for many other, sometimes seemingly unrelated, things. As someone else mentioned, yes we think that the average IQ in developed nations has increased by about 3 points per decade.
