You can also find this thread in the Cesspool (Might as well rename it "Ways of saying Posterior in other languages, as apposed to "Mule")

Stryder, might I suggest splitting the thread to create an "asshole/arshole" (or grammar) topic in the Cesspool, and leave all of the relevant pseudoscience posts (the UFO and the rational explanation I gave) in the Pseudoscience section?

These kids find the Pseudoscience section at sciforums by using google to search a keyword they're interested in... I think its helpful to have rational explanations for such nonsense when we can in order to further the cause of education.

Poof! I was busy -- and still am -- otherwise I would have completed my reply -- just one or two "extra" pointers. Anyway. Your "explanations" are sensible, perhaps, but only for those who require sensibility to prop up their insensitive minds.

In a nut shell, Skinwalker, you found it very appropriate (perhaps as a privilege reserved for the "rationally" minded) you found it appropriate to omit one word from your analysis: assume. Otherwise you have absolutely no proof what's so ever that the "cloud" was simply "reflecting" and that the camera was simply "flaring". You assume because you can't consider that perhaps the camera might have picked up a UFO's shielding -- why? Because an alien craft, drifting as it had (time frames), in hostile airspace, would require it!

-- an assumption, of course. But a plausible one.

The definition of plausible is "apparently reasonable and valid; probable, likely, and credible."

That the cloud was a slow-moving, alien spacecraft with shielding that presented itself as a slow-moving cloud is neither probable, likely or credible, and it certainly isn't reasonable or valid. If it were, then all clouds should be suspect (as should large flocks of geese, near earth asteroids & comets, and the invisible, cloaked spacecraft that we cannot see) and we should fully investigate each cloud.

We have enough things to have reasonable and valid fears and concerns for as a society without adding to our troubles the possibility that alien spacecraft are entering the "hostile air-space" of Earth.

Precisely—not *all* clouds roam about the sky with a radiance visible enough to affect a camcorder's capturing abilities because the sun's radiance should have more than sufficed to drown out any such residual radiance bouncing off a small, tiny, misty cloud! But the camcorder did not—because it picked up a different layer of information unlike the sun's radiance. That small tiny misty cloud should have been opaque to the powerful rays piercing behind it, and not have a light bouncing off it like a solid object would!

Plausible, as far as I'm concerned. If you can't find it so, that's not my problem, but your own small, tiny, and misty periphery of mind. Not my loss.

BTW, obviously, that other gilded cloud dipped in the opposite direction, otherwise it would still be in view in the second frame.

Your explanations left much to be desired, SinWalker. You even questioned why there weren't, but should have been, "bustling … people going to work (otherwise, why put up a weather cam?) that lasts for 2.5 hours and yet there are no other photos?" Too much! Too-too much. Now, the lack of a cheering crowd is considered pseudoscience fodder? Who are you to assume that a strange location should or should not be populated by sightseers? Too much.

Right. Try telling that to a student pilot flying off course and panicking, and who happens to have a skin-shade too dark for the Air Force's taste.

Why? Why wouldn't light be reflected from a white cloud like all other light on all other white clouds? How small was the cloud? At what density would a cloud begin to be "drowned out" by the radiance of the sun and at what angle of incidence would this effect begin?

Don't bother with answering... your pseudoscientific attempts so far will suffice.

Really....? A different layer, eh? What layer would that be?

Bunk. Clouds are solid objects to light, which reflects all wavelengths with its billions of water molecules.

Right... You win. It was an alien spacecraft... Clicks "Unsubscribe".
