I always wanted to see what would happen when an irresistible force meets and immovable object.

See how many times you can electrocute yourself in an hour. Then, try to break that record.

Well I am doing something with capacitors, just to get the project over with. I may need to make another thread w/ questions about capacitors.

A project in which I measure the amps at which the current flows out of select capacitors to determin a relationship between that amount and the size of the capacitor and/or other factors.

    Think it's do-able?

Eminently. You might want to look at the link between resistance, capacitance and discharge time.

Do what I always wanted to do... get a circuit board, put some LED lights on it... and make an adding machine. use it to demostrate a simple computer.

Read "CODE" by Charles Petzold... a great Mircosoft book. lol. Still good though.

a part elecronics, part pyrotechnics undertaking...

build an electromagnetic cannon (look up maglev trains to find out how to set up your launch system). Make the object to be launched with a hollow canister. Pack the canister with explosives (M80s, thermite, something homemade, etc.), top it off with a detonating warhead. Aim at specified target, press red button, enjoy. Be sure to give a live demonstration during the fair.

It doesn't get moved, it gets destroyed.

You don't have to charge capacitors up before they can be effect do you?

I mean manufactueres drop caps. onto their circuit boards, solder them and forget about it. On HowStuffWorks, they talk of charging the cap. independtly, first.

i dont s-ee a need to charge it prior to sale, all it emans is that it takes an extra 30seconds after the first startup before it goes

Do something with a tesla coil. That would be pretty cool

So i get the stuff to try out a generic capacitor experiment. I am already afraid of the thing becuase it's a polarized Electrolytic capcitor and following the diagram off of HowStuffWorks.com it's not working, if I hook it up backwards it could explode. WTF.

I hate this science fair bs and when it's over i'm blowing up the entire event.

EMP Cannon = get real, I only want things I can acutally do. If I were to entertain that idea I'd be told it's hard to do or too expensive.

    *goes off searching*
