Herblock Award To Tony Auth Philadelphia Inquirer cartoonist wins foundation award Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Another brick? Tony Auth, Philadelphia Inquirer, March 6, 2005. • • • Congratulations to Tony Auth, of the Philadelphia Inquirer. • • • I admit Auth isn't usually on my first circuit of cartoonists. I'm more likely to see his work coincidentally during a rare visit to USAToday.com, or posted on a board by someone else. This appears to be my loss. I do recognize the style, and could probably have named an Auth next to a Toles, Wasserman, or a host of others. Congratulations of course to Auth and the Inquirer; it is my shame that it takes this sort of award to make my pay attention. • • • An archive of the last three years of Herb Block's 55-year career at the Washington Post is maintained online. See The Herblock Archive. One can only wonder what he would have offered had he made it another two weeks or so to that Terrible Day. ______________________ Notes: Auth, Tony. "(Untitled?)".
