    Using Mozilla 1.7.3

Any time I try to access www.gmail.com I get:

The connection to gmail.google.com has terminated unexpectedly. Some data may have been transfered.

When I try it in IE, it works though. The page doesn't even load any content, the progress bar just goes to about 3/4, stays there for a while, and then gives the error message. I have removed my google cookies and set Moz to allow all cookies but still no luck.

Is this some sort of all-out retaliation from M$ because they got snubbed by Ebay? Will we ever live to tell the tale to our kids?

P.S. Seems the Gmail pop service is working nicely though. Just confused as to why I can't access the mail through the browser.

It works fine for me with both Mozilla Firefox 1.0 and Internet Explorer 6.0. Sorry I couldn't help.

thanks testify, worked using the secure site.

after I went there it asked me to accept some certificate and I did.

Now when I go to the regular site it's working fine all of a sudden.

I'm guessing it's down to a hardcoded security method, where Mozilla doesn't accept secure HTTPS requests over a HTTP protocol. This could either be purposeful or by accident, however the error suggests some info moved between your client and the server and they disagreed on how to communicate with one another (Encryption?)

Once you have create the certificate through HTTPS, I'm guessing it allows the HTTP method because it doesn't have to work out what way to communicate since the Certificate is already there explain how. (Wish I could explain it better)

When I try to log in to GMail, I type in my correct username and password, press login, but then it just takes me back to the login screen. Any ideas?
