There was previously a thread with this title and, big surprise, most of you claimed the terrorists would vote Bush. Well, we now have Osama himself promising blood in the streets if Bush is re-elected in a statement that pretty much hits all the major points of Fahrenheit 911. Comments?

Really? From exerpts that I read, it seemed like he didn't care who got elected. He just cares about the policies:

"Your security is not in the hands of Kerry, Bush or al-Qaida. Your security is in your own hands," bin Laden said, referring to the president and his Democratic opponent. "Any state that does not mess with our security has naturally guaranteed its own security."

Yeah.. and wouldn't it be funny if he actually went into a theater and did see F9/11? Although he's probably getting info through the internet.

Well, here are a few other quotes:

    In other words, "Bush lied"

    He's against the patriot act.

    He was selected not elected

Michael Moore was big on how terrible it was that Bush spent a few minutes to finish reading the story to the children. Osama's statement sounds like an amalgam of a Michael Moore movie and a Kerry ad.

It does seem like Bin Laden watched Fahrenheit 911 in his cave.

This time Bin laden was talking to Americans rather than to potential Jihadis.

If Bin Laden wanted to help Kerry he should have kept his mouth shut until the election was over. But there was no reason for Bin Laden to help Kerry because neither Kerry nor Bush will stop propping up Bin laden's enemies the Saudi klepto family, the dictator in Egypt and Israel.

The lack of subtlety in some people's perceptions of and reactions to the terrorists is rivaled only by 9/11 itself.

Osama doesn't likes Bush because he divided the Arab World. The goal of Al-Qaeda is to unite the Arab world into a new superpower under a new Caliph.

I think the problem here is who cares who terrorist vote for. First of all terrorist like Americans are variable on their vote, second of all if a terrorist told you not to jump off a cliff would you listen to them? My god you would! You unpatriotic scum! Lets me be clear on why this fallay is wrong: A person, even an evil person can still be right about any issue.

As for the latest Bin Ladin video, read the transcript, Yes Bin Ladin does attack Bush often in the video. He does not give a support for Kerry though, rather he ask for US policy change that would remove foreign troops from the middle east, remove support for the present corrupt leaders of many middle eastern countries, remove support for Israel. Neither Bush nor Kerry is likly to do any of these things.

Full transcript of latest Bin Ladin video can be found here:

    S'true in part.
There are supposedly other more personal reasons why OBL and GW don't get on but I suppose George can't be expected to be freinds with all the bin laden brothers...

To achieve his goal OBL needs more recruits. After 3 years without personal sanction I guess OBL ain't to worried about capture at the chimps hands. (Lets face it the whitehouse, petagon and spook service are a pisspoor advertisment for America's wartime prowess).

Guantanomo made OBL smile and Iraq just made him cream himself, for once in his life those fundie beliefs are finding more mainstream muslim outlets.
OBL tells muslims that America is baaad they shrug and say 'maybe?'
Then America invades Iraq by mistake (WMD anybody?) fucks up at Gitmo and Abu G. Continues airstrikes on Iraqi cities a year on from "mission accomplished" and fails to protect the Iraqi people, government and infrastructure.
Then OBL says "America is baaad" and the muslims say "right on!"

OBL might not like George and George might not care for OBL but one things for sure....
They need each other if they are to retain their own respective powerbases.

    Osama needs George to win.
    Think it over.

Anyone with a beef with the US wants Bush to win, from the EU, China, Osama, and even Russia. Because if Bush does anything well...it's fleecing America of its power so effectively.

Not exactly true. Where on tape does he say that? How about you quote the mans words rather than paraphrase. that would be less confusing.

    Here let me help you..

"Blood on the streets if Bush is re-elected"? Where did you get that idea? Did somebody lie to you or did you just make it up?

the world would vote for Bush (particularly Europe). i've already posted all the reasons in another thread, but here's a short list:

    1) Bush is for free-er trade. export countries depend on large US markets. many EU countries are in fact export countries, such as Germany
    2) the war on terror is necessary. with Bush, the US would be the one to pay for it... both with cash, resources, and lives. i see French soldiers crossing their fingers that Bush wins so they won't go to any hot zones.
    3) Bush is someone the EU can bash to get arab favours (i.e. oil deals)

there are many more reasons but i'm too tired to list them.

    Interesting link MadAnt.

This is the third different translation I've read.
The confusion seems to be over the meaning of the word 'state'.
Is he talking nation state as some suggest or is he talking US state as Al-Qal'a suggest.

    from your link.

I don't speak arabic but it seems stange to me that the Islamists feel it necessary to interpret for us us what Osama is saying. I find it even stranger that they should do so not in English but in Arabic link
Either way the "white thug Bush" part is not from the OBL vid but part of the spin imposed by those who would use OBL's statement for their own ends.
Either that or other Islamists simply don't know what he's on about.
