Yeah, yeah, I know.. it's still early but I'm not really expecting much more to come down the pipe in the next 2 months, and it has been a particularly bad year for movies so here goes:

What's the best movie you've seen this year?

I'm indecided so far, but it's between 'The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' or 'Intermission' (excelllent indie flick).

I'll wait and see what the end of the year brings out. The movie makers like to give you their best at the end of the year .

I liked Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, too. But then, I'm a big fan of anything by Charlie Kaufman.

    Eeek.
Gotta disagree with you there cosmic...
They wait 'till the end of the year to release the 'designed to get an Oscar' crap flicks.

James R, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was a phenomenal movie.

fahrenheit 9/11 has a lot of merit. It's too bad that docs aren't very popular... maybe it's because usually the intention of them is to make people think...

I can't wait to see a whole buch of docs when I fly to Toronto in a couple of weeks... yay.

Spiderman II blew me away. Great action, great directing, excellent acting.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind at #2. I found it kind of boring, a bit too detached, but it was well put together.

The biggest dissapointment has got to be 'Alien Vs Predator'.

I meant do say "docs" as in documentaries....

The city is the only place that shows documentaries on the big screen.

Layer Cake. British film, same people who did Lock, stock and two smoking barrels, and Snatch. Dunno if you guys would get to see them outside the UK? Worth checking them out though.

Biggest disappointment??? Hmmm.. interesting idea for another thread.
I'd have to say without any question: 'Kill Bill 2'. After the brilliance of part One, the second was simply garbage. It was painfully obvious that Mirimax forced Tarantino to split the flick due to runtime; it could easily have been edited down to 30 minutes and tagged onto part one. Talk about filler....

Oh -- and another favourite of this year was Around the world in 80 days. It was just one of those charming, but underrated movies..
