Pick some leaves off your "vegetables" and toke on 'em a bit...
It makes all the sense in the world shortly thereafter...

Canada's population would be declining without immigration. That's because we're smart enough to know that having a trailer full of inbred future criminals hurts our country.

The propaganda coming from Canadians here is hilarious.

You really, really, REALLY want to convince us...

... or most likely you want to convince yourselves.

You're right, from what I hear, Americans aren't very caring of eachother.

Then clean your ears. America spends billions in aid to twit countries that can't make ends meet. We shed our blood freeing the oppressed from asshole dictators and fools.

But we do not care about "Loser Asshole Idiots".

I'm just joking around. My sense of humor is often taken seriously. I do think Canada is better than the USA and that there is some truth in my statements, but have a lugh, it's no contest.

Canada spends a larger % of our budget to help others. Our army is maily for peacekeeping. I'm sure the USA can't say the same.

I love canada but this nonsense about being the greatest (or worst) place on earth is just stupid. Though Killjoy outlined some of our issues in an unusually bitter manner, they were reasonably accurate - like every other country, we have shit to deal with. canada is neither a liberal utopia or a frozen hell.

Here's the recipe we used (feel free to experiment):

Start with a greased pan (olive oil or axle grease will work)
    Ingredients:

    1 liter of europe,
    1 1/3 gallon of america,
    500 ml of asia,
    500 ml of the mideast,
    300 ml of africa
leaven with 100 grams of the first nations and bake for 150 years.

during baking its important to chant "we rock!", "we suck!" continuously until golden brown. If your canada falls during baking this can be easily remedied - simply blame yourself, your neighbor, the alignment of the stars or a butterfly in australia and all will be well (or at least you'll feel in control).

    What're y' mean bitter, eh...?

If I was tryin' t' be bitter I'd a' mentioned the Kebbeckers....!

I'd ask ye fer a beer an' a smoke, but what with the PST, GST, HST, an' Gaud knoos whot else, I know ye can't buy too many at once, eh...

    Apologies...

My original response was geared to the sarcasm I felt was apparent in the original post.
I thought perhaps it was intended to evoke similar hyperbole.

I am certainly aware that the USA also has issues to deal with more constructively than has been the case up 'til now.

Until that happy eventuality when all nations and ethnicities are subsumed in the grand global society of some utopian future, all nations will undoubtedly continue to face such issues, and will undoubtedly deal with them imperfectly, especially in the opinion their detractors.

    lol, no actually I apologize.

I meant to point out in my earlier post that your response was really the only way to answer such a silly thread. If you hadn't lashed out at his obscene generalities, I would have. There's a difference (that christmas 1996 doesn't seem to recognize or understand) between being proud of one's nation and being blindly arrogant/ignorant, I guess that's just another problem most countries share.

Now that I think about it 90% of the worlds problems come from this need to see one's own country as "perfection". Most of the planet's population seems to honestly believe, "We are flawless! it's everyone else that's the real problem!".

No wonder there is so much fighting, nothing is stronger than "righteous" truth.

I'll try and dig out the link, but it's been shown that publicly funded healthcare is cheaper in the long run. And of course, more comprehensive.

I haven't read the thread. The comment made earlier, well, I was just trying to get a rise out of Q. So, I guess I was trolling...ewwwww. I really didn't mean anything by it American folk.

What makes Canada great? Plenty of things, although some people to the south of us don't want to admit it.

WWI Canadian soldiers fought at Vimy Ridge, which was a turning point for this war; that makes Canada great.

WWII Canadian soldiers led the invasion of Normandy by being the first to break through a beach head; that makes Canada great.

Avro Arrow paved the way for the modern fighter jets of today; that makes Canada great.

Canadians fought the Korean war, which wasn't our war; that makes Canada great.

Canadians fought the Vietnam war, again it wasn't our war; that makes Canada great.

Canadians are modest about their achievements; hence ignorant heckling from the south of us; that makes Canada great.

What makes Canada not so great? A gun registry that has costed over 2 billion fucking dollars that punishes the responsible gun owners, and does nothing to keep guns out of the hands of the bags of shit that kill people for fun or money.

A health care system that is in great peril; at least it seems that way.

Canada dumped 18 million tonnes (or was it kg?) of known carcinogens into the environment in 2001.

Canadian kids are surpassing American kids in the fatty category; per capita.

So, with the problems Canada has, do I think Canada is the greatest country? Of course, I'm Canadian, what the fuck do you expect? Just as an American is proud of theirs, or anyone else being proud of their respective country for that matter. There is nothing wrong with that, but heckling someone because they're proud of their country shows your childishness. Which is one reason why I ranted earlier...no one liked it, did they? Hope the lesson was learned children.

I live in Canada and I love this country. I never said that we were the best in the world. Of you want to lose weight and live in the sunshine, Nigeria might be a nice place to live.

Caanda has done stupid things in the past, but at least we don't push small countries around. It would have been easy to tell the Americans "We're with you all the way, Mr. Bush". Instead, we decided to do the right thing regardless of our reputation from the Americans. We got a standing ovation when we announcement in parliment.

I just am trying to tell the Americans that think that their country is the best in the world are brainwashed stupid fucks who are taken by the government controlled media.

Canada is actaully OK and the US is not eutopia. It does have problems. However, I do want to make one note.

We don't just push small countries around. We were attacked and these small countries thumbed their noses (Afganistan) at us when we requested (politely) that they cooperate and hand over the heads of the terroists groups. We are not and will not be handicapped by smart ass twits and just sit back and get plumbled.

You want our support be civilized. You want our wrath just try to act tough and spit on us.

BC is hippy land. In other words - Paradise. Aren't the Americans the ones that let people into their country? It's their job to stop them at the border crossing, even if we do let them in to our country.

the Americans often find ways to blame thing on Canada. Remember the power outage a year ago? They said it was a power plant in canada that screwed up. Then when they found out it was a lightning strike in Ohio that caused the outage, they said that it was Canada's fault for using up all the power. It's a classic Example.
