10 FACTS CONCERNING ALLEGATIONS AGAINST IMAM JAMIL
    AL-AMIN

Published by Coalition for Imam Jamil Al-Amin, Metro Washington,

    D.C-Area.

    Fact 1

In 1999, Imam Jamil was stopped while driving by Cobb County
Police. During the stop, the officers asked Imam Jamil for proof of
insurance of the vehicle he was driving. He had a valid driver's
license but no insurance. According to the Imam, when he went to

open his wallet, an officer spotted a metal badge. The officer was
informed by Imam Jamil that the badge was issued to him by the
city of White Hall, Alabama when that city's Mayor appointed him
to the city's auxiliary police force. At no time did the Imam Jamil
represent himself as an Atlanta police officer. (*Source: Essay of
Prof. Natsu Taylor Saito, Georgia State University Law School,
    3/20/2000)

    Fact 2

During the stop, the Cobb County policeman a check on the car
Imam Jamil was driving and their records listed the car as stolen.
Imam Jamil provided the authorities with a bill of sale for the car,
yet the police nevertheless arrested him for receiving stolen
property. He was also charged with diving without insurance and
impersonating an officer. (*Source: Prof. Saito, 3/20/00)...

Why should we free him? He pleaded guilty (or no contest) to recieving stolen property and impersonating a police officer, that's his own damn fault. Then he missed a court appearance, that's also a crime. OK, the shooting had nothing to do with him, but still, he was convicted of crimes, and he should do his time like anyone else.

I don't like the idea of lying so don't expect me to be doing so.

Also, Islam condems lying, and yes some Muslims lie but thats their fault and not the fault of the 1+billion Muslims.

    "Black folks built America,
and if America don't come around, we're going to burn America
    down."

This is a quote from the peaceful Iman Jamil. He supported violence in order to break black oppresion. Martin Luther King, whom he thought as weak, managed to change how we look at civil rights through promoting love and peace. Which method seemed to work better? Am I supposed to care if they put this man in jail?

He said that in 1967, and in that time he wasn't a Muslim.

Then he converted to Islam and became a spiritual leader and owned a grocery store, meaning that he decided to convert to Islam and became pure.

Ok then a few more recent facts.....
In the 70's he incited a crowd into burning down a couple buildings. He continued to have run-ins with police even after he converted to Islam. He did not simply own a grocery store after he converted, but became head of a Mosque and leader of the black Muslim group, the National Ummah. More recently, he was accused in 1995 of assault. The accuser later said he was pressured by police to blame the Imam, but signs indicate that he was intimidated by Jamils group or bribed into changing his story. In 2000 he was accused of shooting to death Richey Kichen and wounding his partner, Aldranon English. English did live and pointed out Imam Jamil, who he was sure was the culprit. Both Kichen and English were black, and had no reason to frame Imam Jamil. Jamil was later caught in Alabama with the weapon (proven weapon with ballistics) found in the woods were he recently passed and the car with a tell tale bullet hole in the side. Why did he run to Atlanta immediately after a shooting he knew nothing about? Are we to believe Atlanta police drove to Alabama, then placed the gun used to kill Kichen into the woods nearby? Remember it was Alabama police who found the car and weapons. Are we do believe the policeman that he wounded was convinced to blame someone who didnt really kill his partner? This man is guilty as sin. Many credible news sources all said the exact same story.

According to the BBC article :

Al-Amin moved to Atlanta in 1976 after converting to Islam while serving five years in prison for his role in a robbery that ended in a shootout.

In 1995, he was accused of aggravated assault after a man claimed he was shot by Al-Amin. The man later recanted, saying he was pressured by authorities to identify Al-Amin as the shooter.

Al-Amin then became the spiritual leader of a mosque in the Atlanta and ran a small grocery shop.

This sounds similar to the "Free Mumia Jamal" movement. I certainly feel the evidence indicates that he (Mumia) is guilty.

If he is guilty(and it certainly seems like he is on more than 1 count) then why should he be freed? Because he is muslim?

    Greetings,
Let us not speculate on this man's guilt or innocence; without all the evidence present in front of us, we are not in a position to do so. What is very questionable however is whether or not he has not been awarded a fair trial. What is certain is that he is currently imprisoned under 23-hour solitary confinement; a status which the United Nations' (UN) Convention against Torture deems to be none other than torture, while the US government has ratified this UN convention. For more information and a report on Imam Jamil, visit the Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC) website, and search 'Imam Jamil', at: ihrc(dot)org

We can speculate on his guilt, because he is guilty, he admitted Guilt, and he was found Guilty by a Court of Law.

He is no longer charged, which if this was the case, He is innocent until proven Guilty, but he admitted guilt, and was found Guilty, in trial.

So yes we can say 'Imam Jamil is Guilty.

Let's call Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin, by his correct name not his AKA, his real name is H.Rap Brown, and lets see what the rest of the story is shall we:

The Curious Case of Jamil Al-Amin
    by Daniel Pipes
    American Spectator
    November-December 2001

The man once known as H. Rap Brown, whose antics in the 1960s earned him a reputation as the violent left's least-thoughtful firebrand, is now in the dock for murdering a policeman, with a trial scheduled to begin in January. It promises to be one the year's most spectacular court cases. The defendant is one of the leading figures of the American Muslim community, a group newly in the national spotlight. His trial and the events leading up to it offer some insights into that community.

The origins of the case go back to May 1999, when a 55-year-old African-American man named Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin was stopped on the outskirts of Atlanta, driving a stolen Ford Explorer. To avoid arrest, he flashed a police badge from White Hall, a small town in Alabama. The ruse worked, and he was let off-but not for long. An investigation found that Al-Amin was no officer; in September 1999 he was indicted, on charges of theft, impersonating an officer and driving without proof of insurance. He was assigned a court date in January 2000.

When Al-Amin failed to appear at the hearing, a warrant for his arrest was issued. At about 10 p.m. on March 16, 2000, two Fulton County sheriff's deputies, both African-American, rode over to Al-Amin's small grocery store in West End, one of Atlanta's poorer sections, to serve the warrant. The young officers were cautioned about the fugitive: "aggravated assault, possibly armed." But they had no idea they were pursuing a famous black nationalist and the self-styled namesake of "rap" music, whose violent history stretched back to before they were born.

Here are some career highlights. H. Rap Brown was a founder and later chairman of the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee, whose definition of non-violence included his famous boast: "We're gonna burn America down." In 1967 Brown incited a mob to torch two city blocks in Cambridge, Maryland; "It's time for Cambridge to explode, baby," was his punch line. In 1970, while serving as the fugitive "Minister of Justice" of the murderous Black Panther Party, he made the FBI's "Most Wanted" list for the first time. A shootout during the attempted robbery of a bar on New York City's Upper West Side left him and two police officers injured. He did five years in New York prisons, including a jailhouse conversion to Islam, in which he took the name Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin.

Preaching a firebrand version of Islam, Al-Amin in the 1980s became a pillar of Atlanta's burgeoning Muslim community. He and the law stayed on separate paths until 1995, when he was arrested for shooting a drug dealer four times in the legs, and also charged with carrying a concealed and unlicensed .45 caliber handgun. A year later, he was investigated in connection with more than a dozen homicides, which a police report ascribed to revenge, business rivalries and eliminating people who "knew too much." By 1999 he was arrested on charges of driving a stolen car and carrying a concealed weapon.

Even so, when the two sheriff's deputies, Aldranon English, 28, and Ricky Kinchen, 35, found Al-Amin standing in a black trench coat by a parked black Mercedes-Benz, they were not prepared for what came next. Finding Al-Amin's hands concealed, they followed standard procedure and ordered him to show his hands. "OK, here they are," he replied and allegedly pulled out two guns, firing first a .223 caliber assault rifle, then switching to a 9 mm revolver. English was shot in both legs, the left arm and right chest. Six bullets killed Kinchen. The next day English identified Al-Amin from a selection of mug shots.

Al-Amin, meanwhile, fled to White Hall, Alabama, and for the second time in his life made the FBI's most-wanted list. Four days later he was caught - this time by no less than one hundred well-armed police officers. Al-Amin was wearing body armor when apprehended. Police found in White Hall his black Mercedes - complete with a tell-tale bullet hole-two cartridge clips, a .223 caliber rifle and a 9 mm handgun. Ballistic tests showed the guns to be those used to shoot English and Kinchen.
