infinite number of planes, all moving at he same time, parallel to one another.

links between them? are more created if something from one plane moves to another plane? if that happens was it already happening in another plane anyway? did it all splinter off from one original plane of existence? how?

man o man, that's a bunch of questions.

I've always been suspect of a multi-verse theory. Excpet for the feel-good experience we get that every decision we make is played out over all it's consequences, I don't really find much logical support for this not being the only universe.

    Riomacleod ...

A whole lot better than not-so-feel-good feeling that comes with the realization that none of our decisions make a damned bit of difference in the larger scheme of things.

I will post more information on Multiworlds at a later date, if necessary.

    Luckily, it's not necessary.

Funny Tony1, your answer is exactly the same when I replace it With religion.
As that is NOT neccesary. of Jesus, for that matter.. or infact your comment that is negative on a topic you know nothing of. Perhaps your just scared that i'M GOING TO SHOW YOUR GOD UP

    My own theory

Single universe with infinite singuralities and big bangs in the endless void. We are just lucky to be inside one of those local big bangs.

I thought for a time that our awareness of other possible situations hinging on our decision is where the universe divides. Like we can pick up on other possibilities, or perceive universes, and merge with them, and the one we most think about or end up doing in the end is where we've crossed the universe into another, where if we'd have pursued another path of existence, we would exist down that path.
Once the thought is conceived, depending on momentum of previous decisions, it will or will not be persued, depending on the sum of all our influences thus far. When we are in indecision, we are splitting the world into two possibilities. From there, chaos occurs based on other people's decisions and so on, allowing for only one resolution, because going either way will be one choice, and going both would be one choice.

Really though, with chaos, everything is just a part of a solution of a huge problem, and there can only be one solution, or one sum of a series of events, but with respective ways to arrive at the solution at any given point in the problem, depending on the depth you've reached. That is, since we make the decisions we do, and we are assumed to have had the same histories in parallel universes, we will make the same decisions, or arrive at them, and so nothing could split our universe. It would have to be self-sustaining, or composed of matter tuned to the same frequencies, or roughly the same.

The only way we could actually split the universe is if we went back into time somehow and disrupted the flow of time and momentum in some way that would later impact our life enough to change our decision. Then, if that disruption didn't lead to the end of time travel, you could travel back into the time you came from having changed the world... though it's hard to say whether it would impact your existence or create another universe. Where would the matter come from? It would only serve as a framework of energy that had changed at one point in its resolving itself, creating a different solution.

Wow... it's a lot of possibilities, but only because it hasn't happened yet. It can only end up in one way.

ApparentlyThe Fabric of Reality by David Deutsch is a good read on that subject, though i haven't got hold of it myself yet.

To grapple with the contradictions, most physicists have chosen an easy way out: They restrict the validity of quantum theory to the subatomic world. But Deutsch argues that the theory's laws must hold at every level of reality. Because everything in the world, including ourselves, is made of these particles, and because quantum theory has proved infallible in every conceivable experiment, the same weird quantum rules must apply to us. We, too, must exist in many states at once, even if we don't realize it. There must be many versions of late-rising David Deutsches, Earth, and the entire universe. All possible events, all conceivable variations on our lives, must exist, says Deutsch. We live not in a single universe, he says, but in a vast and rich "multiverse."

I have friends who dream scenarios that are close but pretty different. They are convinced that such dreams are due to our interaction with our selves in a multiverse quantum state....

May be, someday , we will know for sure....

Oddly enough, you make an interesting point, since I have replaced all of your answers with religion, specifically Christianity.

    Not going to happen.

And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

    Oh yeah.

And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

You're replacing answers with something physically indefinite, and so open to interpretation that it becomes more of a way to avoid the issue than any way to back up an opposing viewpoint.

You stick your nose into these discussions with no intention of adding insight to them, or working toward a better understanding. You stand behind a fence, loathe to cross to common ground, and expecting people to flock to your opinions, or the opinions that guide you.

In this you are giving religion no good name, but rather showing its blind obstinance regarding everything immediately relevant to the human race. Please be relevant. Already this topic is steered awry.

Some people love to hijak the topic. Best defense is to ignore them and continue on the conversation. Soon, they will get bored and move on. It takes a while for the new members to catch on to the topic blockers.

    Where were we....ahh...the multiverse....

If your born your writen into the book of life therfore there is no "lake of fire" because noone is missing from the book of life(which is not any holy book).

Guess what im not religous but i belive in god, why because we think therfore we are, which means something/one had to create us, but i belive that god doesnt want worship if he did he wouldent have given us a mind to think, if all u want is to be worshiped then why give your creations the ability to do otherwise?
Think about it after all thats what god wants you to do.

Sometime in the last two weeks, when I was flipping channels, I saw a guy explaining multiverse as:

Imagine a page in a book. The pages have words. Imagine those words are galaxies. Which means the page is our Universe. There are other pages in a book. While pages are 4 dimensions, the book is in 5 dimension that contain all the pages. There are other books in a library. There are other libraries and so on....

So, it occurs to me that, it may be possible to travel within our multi-verse to jump to the other page easier than to travel within our universe. The dimensional gap may be smaller than the vast distance one has to travel from one galaxy to another.

    What do you think?

    hmmm..

i was thinking the other day about whether or not we can influence which reality we live in based on what we want from our lives. things that are extraordinary must happen for some internal reason...something that you really want. i've always wondered whether your strongest desires can motivate your reality to change, whether by your own choices (conscious or not) or externally through some sort of unseen influence on events around us.
