What would you name your Starship?

Well, what would you name your starship and why?

I guess I'd go with the title "Starship Shoes-Untied". Could you imagine the name of the show? Star Trek: Shoes-Untied. Nah, I'd go with the U.S.S. Demeter.

Demeter was the Goddess of the Harvest in Greek mythology.

I've always been partial to The Filthy Whore ever since I watched Cabin Boy.

But, I guess if a serious answer is required, then... U.S.S. Percipience. Sounds good. Or maybe the Temporal Wake. Percipience because it refers to perception. Their missions usually relate to seek out and explore. One would require percipience in this endeavor. Temporal Wake because of the inherent paradox's involved in FTL travel. Which are never explained fairly in Star Trek.

The S.S. Esses

On a serious not, probably U.S.S. Eldritch would be sweet

My girlfriend, who likes to make fun of both my computer/gamer friends and myself as well as just about every ghetto rapper on MTV recently named her ship "The Uber-hizo". The name kind of stuck. Now we've all agreed that there really should be a show with a ship called "The Uber-hizo"

What a gr8 question!

I would have to call it 'Eden' as it would be home to many thousands of rare and beautiful plants collected from across the galaxies.
I would definately be a plant trader. Aww fu*k why cant this be reality now!!!

Peace ;)

World Wanderer would be my first choice for my own ship, followed by Traveler. After all, that's what it would do. Chaos Factor was the plan for my flagship, after a fleet is aquired.

Argo and other legendary ships I think would make up the first vessels. state sponsored, thier primary purpose would be exploration. There would definitely be an Enterprise, there's no escaping that one. I've thought about this a bit, I'm writing a book. Anyone know any other old legendary types ships that would be used?

my first would be "Wild Blue Yonder", I'm ex-USAF

my second would be "XAGP-01", for 'Experimental Anti-Gravitational Propulsion Ship- the 1st one built'

my last would be "GS-x42°y55°90#122"

For:
GS= Generation Ship,
Then using the Center of the Universe as the zero point reference axis & the earth as the 0°/360° radial point in a 3-D map with the following variables:
x= 42°
y= 55°
f= 90°
and
#122= the 122nd ship built & sent out from earth. Nicknamed the “Von Voyage!”. See ya!!!

I really like 'Uber-hizo'! great name.

Some of the spaceships I have used in Orion's Arm;
The Phillip K Dick
The Ananas (pineapple)- (well, it looked a bit like a pineapple)
The Update, a newsmedia ship
The Dyaush, named after an Indian sky god
The Nargonn, my daughter made that one up...
The Complicated Shadows from the six suns of Castor...
The Papo-Furado from the Greater Brazilian Space Agency...

My ship - strictly speaking not a starship but an interplanetary trader - is the "Lorelei" because we play the music so loud we're in constant danger of bumping into something.
