Aspirin is made from a fungi that lives on the bark of willow trees. Just in case you were wondering.

I think it actually comes from a variety of plants. I remember seeing something recently where it showed a different plant. I think the name of the plant actually had something to do with the name asp-something. (I should do a web search, but Bones was my equivalent of a search engine. Or actually, I intended to use him that way. Now I've gone and screwed myself. I'm sure I have other knowledgeable friends back where I came from. Bones was probably a bad choice for a name anyway, everyone associates it with Star Trek.)

I woke up early this morning. I noticed that the gand had returned from their witchhunt. They all looked tired and dirty.

I left them alone to work a bit on my erotic art. I still an outcast after all and a damn fine one. I got a bit bored doing that after a while and started wandering around a bit.

I regret sincerely now doing that. Invert_nexus was near the water covered in some shit. Oh no, he is taking his clothes off and washes them. MOVE MOVE...get away...Too late, he starts stretching...naked...argh...

No more making of erotic art for me today. I need a drink or two.

There is a new girl in town. She is sunbathing and she looks like she had a few too many to drink...I don't know what her name is, but I will call her 'sexy blue feet' on accord of her sexy blue feet.

I decide to roam through the forest a bit. I feel a bit like I could use some tea and cake. Maybe Swedish Fish made a fresh pot. Maybe she still needs scirum. We could swop goods again.

I arise from my nap, my headache abated. Must not have been a concussion after since I woke up. I arise and find Sexy Blue looking at me from her vantage on her sunbaking rock.

I say, "Hi, Sexy Blue. How do you do this fine summer morn?"

Sexy Blue responds, "Just fine, Nexus. Do you feel a draft?"

I say, "Well, now that you mention it..." It's then that I realize I'm standing there buck-ass naked. Perhaps I did have some minor brain damage from all my recent head injuries. I quickly dive behind some cover and reach for my clothes (pleasantly dry now, although without soap they still have some crust on them). Before I do, I notice a newcomer to the village at the edge of my vision leering at me. He noticed that I saw him watching me and he quickly turns about and slips away, sipping at a jug as he goes. Uh oh, I thought, another villager has fallen madly in love with me (j/k spurious

    )

After I get my dishabille taken care of, I once more approach Sexy Blue and tell her of my intentions to make some soap and aspirin. We have a nice little conversation on what plant aspirin is derived from. I decide that these projects can wait for another day. Getting started on my domicile is the first order of business.

I bid Sexy Blue adieu and tell her that I should have some time to work on her hammock before the end of the day, after I've gathered construction materials.

Not wanting to ruin the woods near to my future home, I decide that I should start cutting down trees on the far side of the village. Packing lumber this far will be quite a chore, so first I will gather wood and build a cart. Then I will use the cart to transport supplies to the construction site.

It's a long, hard day of work. At the end of it, I am sore, sweaty, and smelly. But, I feel magnificent, nothing like a good day at one's chosen profession to make the world seem right. I have finished my cart and have a full load of lumber. It's an awful chore dragging the cart by myself. I make a note to attempt to find the elephant from days ago to act as my draft animal. Would probably make short work of pushing down trees as well. But, I've worked too hard today to go tramping after an elephant right now. And I am sufficiently muscled to tow the cart myself.

Whistling a happy tune, I head for home, my cart behind me. I have found some excellent material for Sexy Blue's hammock. All that I need is some fabric, I'm not a seamstress you know. I wonder if Sexy Blue is. Everyone else in the village seems to have a function. I wonder to myself what Sexy Blue's job is. Ahh, well, maybe she's just a sunbather. Seems to spend a great deal of time sunbathing. I suppose someone has to. And if that's what accounts for the marvelous shade of blue of her sexy feet then I really can't blame her.

The visit to swedishfish was very rewarding. She had blueberry cake! My favourite! Well, I like all cake except for fish and mushroom cake.

Again we didn't exchange many words. She was eyeing the scirum I brought all the time. When I gave it to her she quickly stashed it away somewhere in the house and then started cleaning away the dishes. I managed to shove the remainder of the cake in my mouth before she cleared away my plate. I said goodbye. She went in.

I headed back to my own hut. I needed a nap after this hard work (eating delicious blueberry cake).

After being away for a couple of days I notice a couple of new people in the village. I'll say hi later. While away I managed to find a few items I thought were lost like my field medic kit and 3 sarongs. I found Nexus with a newly constructed cart full of wood. As I walked closer to him I found that he was totally nude...what the fu..?! "Hey Nex, how's it going? I have something for you." I had him turn his back to me so that I could wrap a sarong about his waste. He didn't seem to like it at first but he expressed his gratitude anyway. My creel is full of fish so I made my way up to the lean-to in order to prepare supper. I see that Nexus has hogged my bed role since I've been gone, I'll need to talk to that boy...this place is a fucking mess!

On my way home I saw the tiger. It was taking a nap on a thick branch up in a fat old tree.

I thought about setting the tree on fire for a joke but then remembered that I am not a teenager anymore. Instead I continued on my path to my own hut. Would I ever get there?

wherever you want it to be.

I'm an outcast so mine is outside the village.

Damn, I coulda sworn I put my clothes back on earlier. Maybe the hit to the head was harder than I thought. Thanks for the sarong Padma, it's lovely. Sorry about the mess. It's been a bit hectic lately. And besides, you know I couldn't make it without you. I'm only a man.

    Anyway, welcome back. Missed you.

Seven, my hut (well, soon to be hut, once I'm done building it) is outside the village as well. Lovely view of the falls. Rather unsanitary down in the village. Even with the shit cleaned out with the recent flood. I'm sure that now the residents have begun returning, the shit-flinging will commence once more. If so, I will definitely need to build a fence around my property.

so wait... I know you've all forgotten me... but did you save me or did I really die?

*sigh* And all I wanted was to go to SciCity

You're saved, although I don't think anyone washed the runes of you. I'm sure a quick dip in the pool will fix you right up. And sorry about that, I meant to have you continue your journey at the end, but forgot to throw it in. Pardon me for taking liberties.

edit: By the way, it's somewhat realistic to how difficult it is to leave small towns, they keep pulling you back in. Though usually not with a sacrifice ritual.

It's only ink or something, although I see that you begin to see the possible consequences of leaving things unsaid. Gooood, the plan is proceeding to plan. Muahahaha.

J/k. I'd never actually hurt anyone in here. I just like putting them in precarious situations every now and again. I take it you don't care for the genre?

I don't mind, as long as you save me from any risky situation you may place me in, and follow the story to the end so I'm not left to wonder
