I just found out that this movie even existed, has anyone heard anything about this? Seems it will premiere on April 19th on DVD... I must say that I'm intrigued.

I know the Heinlein fans among you probably hated the first one and probably screamed bloody murder when you heard about this one, but I am of the opinion that the first movie was good on it's own and am pretty interested to see how this thing turns out.

I loved the book, and thought the first movie was a completely seperate entity... which I enjoyed in a Bruce Campbell sort of way.

I make look for the second when it comes out.

I read the book and saw the movie and hated both, for entirly different reasons... but cant help but think that in a dirty little corner of my mind I kind of liked both... for entirly different reasons.

I dont really think its a terrible afront to Heinlen to make a sequil to the movie, because other than some names there is very little that links the two together. Its almost like they were making thier own blockbuster Scifi movie and thought "Hey, what if we named this guy zim?" I mean the movie bumps into a few situations the book covered, but it just seems so thin.

One of my teachers at the university im getting my degree at worked on "Roughnecks: Starship Trooper Chronicles" or i think that was the title. The computer animation "kids show" (it was not particularly child oriented in my oppinion, but thats when it aired, with other cartoons) version of ST. He even directed an episode. That will alwayse be the definative Starship Troopers for me, because I hate Heinlens politics, and I have the sneaking suspicion that I would have hated him personaly as well, and the movie was just so durn cornball.
... I just clicked on your links, wow, starshiptroopers2.net sure is a wealth of information, isnt it?

I can, it was almost as morose as "Space Above and Beyond" at times, it was like, back to back with the animaniacs or something like that. They weren't positioning it for the right audience.

You'll need to switch off your popup blocker. They have a few stills from the movie, interviews and info on the cast.

I'm a bit concerned that this is a straight to video release...and the main character looks like he's gonna keel over and die of old age at any moment.

I'll download it before I buy it.

Never heard of it until now. Any proper sequel to Starship Troopers should have a similar budget, special effects at least as good (ought to be even better today) and certainly Denise Richards - Casper van Dien & Jake Busey too, I hope.

Maybe I'll watch this straight-to-video release. If I find it for rental.

It will be aired on one of the cable channels April 24. I saw the ad for it a few days back.

I've just seen this movie. It's pants. The acting is pants. I've never seen so many cardboard actors come together (excluding the 80's). The special effects were awesome! The story was good. But the acting, meh.

I loved the start. The advert that glorified war and then it dissolves into the real deal in a similar setting and immediatly one guy gets sliced in half and thrown about. AWESOME! And some guy gets his throat slit, another shoots herself in the head, two people get hit in the head verious numbers of time, another gets burnt alive, one guy gets a manible through his skull, another through his chest....bloody awesome!

I liked it for what it is, a medium budget B-Movie. It delivered everything it promised.

My friend totally called the bug-zapper part. He fell out of his seat laughing. Oh, it was a gloriously bad movie. I loved it.
