Excepting defiance of the physical laws of the universe, like gravity, do you believe that anything is possible? (A kite, for example, does not defy gravity.) Why do you so believe?

I suppose it's hard to imagine things that are impossible, because they deal with things out of the realm of our ordinary perception.

But anyway back to the question:

I think that just about anything is possible, especially in the future.

Eventually time travel may be possible and that alone will thereby cause alot of other things to be possible.

For instance you could go back in time and use far future technology to change the way the big bang happened thereby changing how the universe formed. In theory doing slight changes to the big bang could cause everything to be changed. Gravity could be stronger or weaker and even molecules could form slightly differently.

Also if when you go back in time you are actually going into a parallel universe it gets rid of the whole time paradox of causing yourself not to exist and any other things like that.

Do you believe that if you jump with nothing to help you other then your sneakers you can touch the moon? Because maybe with the help of certain technology you could but without it many things become impossible.

Just because you need technology to do something doesn't mean it can't be done.

Just take going to the moon for example.

Nothing is impossible its just somethings are highly improbable :m:
Expand your mind and all things are possible ^^

yes anything is possible with technologies but without it lots of things are impossible like walking around the moon without any oxygen, sure with the proper equipment you can but without any technology you can't survive there making it impossible to live on the moon without proper equipment.

We can change the moon artificially so that we don't have to bring oxygen to walk around the moon.
Technology is our sharp gun to make every impossible things come possible.

Yes, this is why things that defy physical law are excepted from the question.

Zero of anything will never equal one of the same thing.

That is why I voted no.

    Many things are impossible.

Here's just 1 thing to show you why you should have said no:

    living inside a black hole.

You can live inside a black hole if it’s large enough, just not too close to the center of it, where you’d have to defy physical law to survive. We could be inside a black hole now. It might be a billion years before we get too close to the center.

suppose there is no such thing as a black hole. And my personal theory is that there is never a 100% chance of anything happening or not happening. :m:

I'm not sure the question makes sense zanket, perhaps you can expound upon it. To me it basically reads, 'is everything possible as long as it is not impossible?' To which, of course, my answer is 'yes'. But I don't really see a point to the question. What are you getting at?

    Re: Re: Is anything possible?

"not impossible" is simply possible. So, "everything is possible as long as it is possible." That is like A = A

    Duh

    Exactamundo!

I'm guessing that zanket has something more in mind which is why I asked him to expound.

As long as what we want to accomplish does not break any rules that govern the universe, be it discovered or not, then whatever we want to accomplish is possible. It is even possible that all the air in the room you are located in will all shift to the opposite end of the house and your body will explode because of it (vacuum, of course... no fire). The odds are VERY slim but it CAN happen.

But you need you clear your question up some.

You ask is it possible to do anything as long as we do not break the rules of the universe. Here is an example of why your question is flawed.

The statement "0 = 1" is a member of "anything," right? Well, if we say "yes" to your question, then 0 = 1 is possible. It is kind of hard to get my point worded right but I am sure with some study SOMEONE will get it

perhaps what zanket meant to ask is 'is it possible for 0=1 to be possible?'

Of course it's possible, can you tell me why 1+1 = 2?
