Musika Yam Tikhonit if I understood correctly , and I absolutely love it . The style I enjoy most is with the Balkan sound and an Indian ragga/reggae-dancehall rythim , I dunno if it has any specific name ?

Obviously my favorite sofar is Sarit Chadad with shit like : Lev Zahav , Im Telech , Zipor Chofshia , Cinderella , Yerushaleim Shel Zahav , Tischok Tischok , Ze Ha Sod Sheli , Ali Lo Madona , and this song that goes like "Ella Ruah Ella Ruah" (does that mean "her heart" ?)

Other than Sarit I like Eyal Golan although he does sound like a bitch , I like his songs Lev Shev Gever , Rona .

Then there is this song Black BMW by Ethnix & Israel Chamsa with Darbuka .

I love the language , and although rather fake , I do like the Ashkenazim accent in context with the music .

Since I obviously have no clue what I am listening to since I can't understand Hebrew , my opinion is 100% phonetically . I was hoping anyone could help me out however with links to some translation or at least transliteration site(s) of Hebrew lyrics (especially for the songs mentioned) so I can distinguish/understands the words a little bit easier .

Now I know there are some Israeli on these boards , and I was hoping if they can set politics aside for a minute to share their experiences on this music . I understood it's rather main-stream so we can expect contra-positions , however since all y'all are such damn nationalist I cannot imagine you not to love this for the sake of your country .

I'm taking it you enjoy classical. Or, at least, classical-style contemporary....or whatever bullshit name you want to give it.

    Itzhak Perlman?

    Deecee

Why should politics come in the way of all that beauty ?

    Tyler

I didnt know Yitzhak Perlman , but what you seem to be pointing at is classic as in Tchaikovsky , I do see Yitzhak did some Klezmer things as well , I will have to check that out sometime since Im quite a klezmer-fan .

But it isnt what I meant , you could consider as traditional-style however since it is rather Sephardic folk revived , if i am correct . It sounds as it is from the countries the Sephardic are : Arab and Balkan , and I understood it is considered as some "oriental" style in its general form . My favorite is the distinguished mediterranian/balkan mix of Greek , Turk and Arab traditional samples with a modern ragge/reggae dance-beat .

Check out some songs I mentioned , when you draw compare you will notice the common sound that I am aiming at .

I love Klezmer music, however I have a limited amount of stuff I've been able to find.

I downloaded some Sarit, but I must admit that is not my style. I prefer the music sans vocals. Or, at least, if vocals I much prefer traditional style. Though, I do see the similarity between what I like and what you've mentioned.

A song I wish to know the name of since I got it from a short mix (

    )

It goes like (excuse my transliterative improvisation) :

huach mana mal hu man , atero shadore
besirot hata yakim , ume alsh hafin hakim
    baha lom sham-naha , etzeve-neha

    The chorus goes like : yeey ma-lach , una shakilach leha-lach .

So what the fuck am I saying and how is this song called and who sings it ?

The mix is called Machrozet Mizrachet and its great but a little bit amateur

Are there any serious Israeli DJ-s who select this and mix it ? Do these peoples if they exist have any mix-tapes or mix-cd's out on the market ?

Regardless of our highly opposing political opinions, I must say I hate Musika Yam Tihonit. Sounds like puke. No offense. Just my opinion.

About those lyrics you posted, did you copy it from somewhere or did you listen to the song and wrote down what you heard? Coz I can only understand two words: "besirot" means "in boats" and "bahalom" means "in a dream".

most of Eyal Golans' songs are about love. At least all the ones I occasionally heard on the radio are. Stuff like "Yesh li rak halom liknot lah yahalom, lirot otah od paam mehayehet... blah blah blah" - "I only have a dream to buy you a diamond, to see you smile again, bla blah blah". *cough*crap*cough*

Sarit Hadad is singing about an even larger variety of bullshit such as the forementioned song "ani lo madonna" which means "I'm not madonna". Total crap.

Personally, I don't understand how somebody can listen to this crap and enjoy it. It's like bathing in warm puke or watching scat porn.

P.S. "Ella Ruah" means "to the wind" or "god of the wind"

I assume there is more to your hate than just the crappy lyrics ?Since I don't understand one word they are saying , you can imagine the lack of problems I have with it . I can understand where you're coming from though , but if you let go of the lyrical message , can you not appreciate the vocals phonetically ?

Do you dislike the rythim and the folkish melodies as well ? Do you dislike it because it is main-stream/popular ?

    Obviously

you have to apply flexible interpertation

So I assume you don't know who's song this is and if there exist DJ-s who mix this kind of music ?

I'm not built for that kind of music. I can't stand eastern melodies. The fact that it's mainstream also contributes to my dislike and disrespect to this musical style, but mainly it's just the phonetical aspect. I hate their whining voices and the weird time signatures of the songs.

Now that - I like. Don't forget Solitary, Acropolis, Eternal Decay, Natures' Elements.

    Nope. Sorry.
