Imagine carrying over 300 CDs in something smaller than your wallet! wow i love my iPod! i dont even own 300 cds... i got 1000 songs on it so far, i take it everywhere, it is the godliest thing ever! omg i cant explain the joy of an iPod! However, i now have the ability to Not buy any new CDs, but simply to borrow all my friends, spend a weekend putting a few hundred CDs onto it, and giving them back. Is that honest? Is it worse than Kazaa? Or am i just one happy son of a bitch?

If each album is about 72 minutes long and it can hold 300+ albums then thats something like 21600 minutes (360 hrs or 15 days) worth of music.
So my question is how long do the batteries last?

its actually supposed to be up to 3 weeks of continuous music 24/7 depending on model, batteries last 6-8 hours, but i just put it in its stand where it charges and hook it up to some speakers for music all day - takes 3 hours to charge fully or 1 hour to 80%

How is the anti-skip? That ain't solid state memory allowing you to have 300 CDs on there.. I use minidisc.

Why would there be skip with pure data?

Because the pure data can only be extracted from the iPod's hard drive if it's being allowed to operate properly. (Not constantly jostled)

Hmm, well at any rate, skipping has never been a problem for me and I treat that thing like a right bastard, dropping it several times a day and so on.

What's the maximum sampling rate on those things? I've got some Rio PMP3 something or other MP3 player from the dawn of portable mp3 players that holds like all of 15 songs so long as they are short, and it plays 'em back at a much lower sampling rate than the origional tracks. Wonderin' if this is still a problem with the modern players.
