Pretty weak "security problem" if that's the case.

I still wouldn't use any program that takes the company 10 days to put out a patch for ANY security hole. PLUS...I loves my NIS.

Irregardless of how large a security threat you think it is.... a program designed for SECURITY shouldn't have exploits whatsoever.
All it takes is some ignorance of the "minor" problems and people will develop ways around them to take advantage of the exploits.

Personally... I believe that most cases that people claim to be hacking is just their own stupidity and running trojans.
A "hacker" with any crediible talents most likely won't be attacking the average Joe running Windows.
I find a simple way to get around a lot of exploits is to use Mozilla browser and mail. Even spam has dropped since I changed, don't ask me how, but I am assuming ways for carefully crafted web sites to obtain personal details, like email address.
And another is to use a firewall. I am using OpenBSD 3.3 for NAT and firewalling purposes at home and I have no problems with viruses on my home network except for my sister... downloading and executing trojans sent ot her by people on MSN. I fixed that simply by blocking the most common trojans ports, both in and out so the trojans which connect out from a victom's network don't work either.

CompiledMonkey: My one computer runs win2k and my other runs Mandrake 8.1. Both are behind my routers NAT firewall and my win2k machine is behind a norton firewall. Needless to say it's a pain in the ass when I have to open/close a port.
