I would like to point out that AvP isn't just a game, there are a range of graphic novels out about them too.

We could have an alien craft crash landing on a Predator world (how many of us have wanted to see one of those!!!) and start causing havoc. A task force of marines whose job it is to kill these aliens follows them. Three Way Rumble!!

And if the aliens have blood, they kinda need some way to transport them, so blood vessels seem appropriate.

but bugs dont have blood vessels, and the aliens looked and acted like giant bugs. although they did tend to squirt when shot which imlies some sort of pumping system... hmmmm

and yeah, i read some of the AvP books. MOST follow the same standard plot: humans are on a planet, preds seed planet with aliens, humans clash with preds giving the aliens enough time to dig in and get a queen.

not positive, but i dont think a bugs circulatory system can work on a creature as large as a man, so even if they look like bugs they probably dont have the same circulatroy system

Even though the Xenomorphs work as a collective hive I very much doubt they are bugs. I believe that they're just big killing things that so happen to work in that way. Also they have limbs like a humanoid

I personally think H.R. Giger should be the director of the next Alien film if anything else. He created the alien after and all the sets for the first film. Very cryptic and depraved ideas could come
    of this venture.

-bring back the slow building plot and high anticipation.
    -bring back the costume alien
-make the sets darker and more exotic.
-give us something new in the life of the alien that will disturb and scare (in the original film, the alien turned Dallas into an egg. Although the scene was cut because it was too outrageous, I thought it was an excellent idea and could be used in future films.)
-bring back the minimalistic cling-clang music of the original.

I didn't mind Aliens that much, but it was a very different type of film, an action film at that. The truth is that nobody is afraid of these things anymore, ever since they went digital and the sets go too over-futuristic. Come on, 200 years later and they still have guns?

I congradulate John Frizzel for making a great soundtrack for Alien Resurrection, despite how terrible the actual film was. The only real redeeming feature of AR was the discomfort factor, all of the events were just weird and absurd, which kind of brings the horrow back in a mad-scientist-lab kind of way. (That room full of clones was equally distrubing and stupid.)

I know what you mean about no one being afraid of the aliens any more. In AR ripply gets a hugger on her face and just pulls it off... jeeze why didnt they think of that in the first movie?

Well.....it's because Riply had the queen inside of her in Ressurection so the Face Hugger was like 'Hey, dis bi'atch is already got ones of dos dingies inside of her' and is easier to get off.

Yeah, but Thor would never use such ghetto slang because he is nordic. UNWORTHY OF THE NAME!

In Resurrection, the face hugger wasn't quite able to get Ripley because she was now an unusually strong Alien/Human hybrid.

Alien 3 was where she had a queen inside.

and - It was a mix of "ghetto" slang and Orkish

Repo - Good point about the new strength. I still kinda think it's because she used to have one inside of her so the face hugger sensed it and you can't impregnate the same thing twice can you. So it loosened it's grip.

Ol Thunor is right on this issue. As was clearly seen in one sequence, the aliens wouldn't kill her when she blocked the hallway, because of the blood inside her.

I think AR is actually enjoyable if you sit down and watch the entire series in one day. Now that is roller coaster of horror.

    I loved Alien Resurrection!

I received the Alien Legacy DVD set (which contains all four movies of the series) for Christmas in 2002. The next day when all the stores opened, I returned the gift and asked if I could exchange the first three movies in the set for duplicate copies of Alien Resurrection. That would be four times the fun!

well galt, thank you for that. At least one of us is man enough to admit to being the kind of barbarian who is responcible for the decline of the genre and cinima in general.
