In a book she did with a co-author, she grossly misrepresented facts and alleged government documents as the premise for her supposedly "factual" story. The perpetrator of the event confessed to his hoax. The details elude my memory, but it involved an alleged UFO crash, government coverup, etc...... She's also been involved in other dubious works.

Not the least of which is the cattle mutilation hoopla. There was absolutely no evidence to suggest that cattle weren't killed by combinations of predators, people, or even Severe Lactic Acidosis.

Linda Howe is merely a sensationalist masquarading as a journalist. She has time and again reported the "facts" that support her wishes and suppressed the ones that offer an alternative. She is certainly not unbiased as one would expect from journalist or a skeptic. (yes, skeptics are generally unbiased).

    Skinwalker,

I'm not sure what you base you conclusions about the cattle mutilation phenomenon on but it seems that you are not very well informed about this matter.

See Jim Marrs' Alien Agenda for a more objective overview of this topic. He comes to similar conclusions to Ms. Howe a person with whom you obviously have a considerably large axe to grind.

Oh, they weren't conclusions. Just hypotheses. I include the possibility of little green dudes driving a suped-up invisible space craft as a possibility as well, though I didn't list that as a hypothesis. You see, not all hypotheses have the same probability. While the probability of lactic acidosis being severe enough to erode the mucas membranes and soft tissues of the mouth, eyes and anus is extremely remote, it is more probable than alien visitation. The reason is there is a testable and verifiable phenomenon with which to compare.

I've actually read Marrs' work and even when I was more open to the possibility of "alien agendas" I thought he was a bit out there in his suggestions. There is no alien agenda because there are no aliens (unless they're speaking Spanish and sneaking across the border).

As to an axe to grind with Howe: I've no more disagreement with her than any other irresponsible journalist. She, Marr, Randle, et al should stick to facts and unbiased perspective rather than attempting to manipulate evidence to support their desires (which, I will contend is prestige and/or money).
