When one tree becomes infected with caterpillars, all surrounding trees begin to produce tannin in defensive response. Caterpillars don't like tannin.

@ MR - some of your posts show as ''IMG'' - You should try uploading future pics using an image hosting site, like ''imgur.'' It's free, and easy to use.
Didn't this come up before? The site shows IMG because it is behind a paywall Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
If you upload pics using an image hosting site, there are links provided per image after the upload, similar to posting a website link, designed for forums, etc so pics can be displayed. I’m assuming that MR isn’t using a hosting site.
Thanks Wegs. I am trying to figure it out now. It works! Thanks again! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
René Magritte https://learnodo-newtonic.com/rene-magritte-famous-paintings #7 NOT TO BE REPRODUCED, 1937 French Title: La reproduction interdite Edward James was a British poet and a well known patron of the surrealist art movement. This painting was commissioned by James and it is considered to be his portrait, though the face of the subject is not depicted in the work. Not to be Reproduced portrays a man standing in front of a mirror. However, instead of the mirror showing his reflection, it shows his replicated image. Interestingly the mirror stays true to the book on the mantelpiece and correctly reflects it. The book on the mantelpiece is The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket, the only complete novel written by American writer Edgar Allan Poe. Poe was one of the favorite authors of Rene Magritte and the depicted book is considered one of the greatest novels in the English language. - - Douglas Hofstadter wanted his strange loop (I Am a Strange Loop, 2007), there him it is. - - - Programming languages -> neural networks -> things and connections -> programming languages -> ... /not to be reproduced/ (the loop)
H.R.Geiger's Necromacon...amazing what he could do with an airbrush, gouache, India ink and a bit of LSD. "Godel, Escher and Bach - an Eternal Golden Braid" good read on Strange Loop by Douglas Hofstadter 1979.
