No vaccine is perfectly safe. It is merely much, much safer than living without it. It's like a parachute. No parachute is perfectly safe. But if the plane you are in lost its tail and is about to crash, it's a much better option than crashing with the airplane. Even someone as fact-challenged as you would choose the parachute in that case.
