No, this is just an inevitable observation.

Going forward, the degree to which someone like Taylor, who waited until after his public infamy to personally acknowledge his disruption of Trump, is any sort of symbol of mainstream, societally-aware conservatism will tell us much about the conservative ethic.

My guess↗ was actually Shahira Knight. So much for that. Nonetheless, the question of Miles Taylor's credibility is not exempt from my criticism at the time:

    • In theory, the Times wouldn't run a bogus anon op-ed on the grounds that it would destroy them. To the other, they are clearly being used; the op-ed was mostly an attempt to establish a context of separation 'twixt conservatives and the president they struggle so hard to elect, protect, and betray.

    • It's kind of crazy: He's not Putin's puppet, the author ends up explaining; the incompetent Donald Trump is their puppet.

There was always an ethical question about the implications of the anonymous op-ed, and the range of that individual's obligations to the public trust.

Moreover, while we might tell Taylor, even in his anonymous form, yeah, we get you, but that was still the wrong way to go about it, this consideration also provides a contrast point: Subverting the office of the President of the United States and then anonymously boasting about it in a New York Times op-ed is what passes in some quarters for making an ethical stand.

And juxtaposed with Taylor's role in family separation policy, yeah, actually, that sounds about right.

There is so much I would like to say, once my outrage at such a crime "against humanity" by a 1st world modern society subsides. I doubt it shall ever though.

Taylor's involvement is, to me, similar to Albert Speer's implication in the Rise of the Third Reich, blindly caught up in the paranoid hysterics of "supremacy" promoted by a charismatic leader, so eager to please a psychopath that their ethics and moral compass are left behind with the dirty socks and under wear in the wash. Later seeking some sort of redemption to cure the thousand nightmares of babies lost to their mothers and fathers.
No one could have avoided realizing what they were doing down there on the border.
Taylor, his subordinates etc all knew that the consequences of their actions were going to be tragic yet justified them by screaming "the end justifies the means" when what they really mean is the "the means justifies the end".
There really really is no excuse...for this insanity...

...and yet here we are with a proven psychopath seeking re-election when in fact he should have been removed from office years ago. He is and was obviously unfit for office and obviously, and more importantly, unfit for re-election.

So on that note, it is the impotency of the ethical American Public that is in focus.
No doubt it was similar in Nazi Germany, where those who take honor and ethics to be serious business, formed a small minority to secretly fight against the tyranny desperation breeds..
Perhaps some will question why I have compared the situation, as I have, with Nazi Germany.
It is because the example of how immoral and unethical supremacist policies can be so readily accepted and carried out by minions with only future regret and remorse their only lasting legacy. The Japanese during ww2 were similar with their supremacist dogma.
Suffice to say that the border guard, the homeland minions, etc are just as individually responsible for this nightmare.

The excuse : "I was only obeying orders" is simply not good enough...

The NYT's ignored their own implication in this tragedy as they seek populism ( ratings) over "Truth, Justice and the supposed American way"

Clark Kent would be rolling in his kryptonite lined grave.

    sorry for the rant...

Will Trump win the election? Jonathan Pie explains why he might.

Still not convinced Trump is corrupt?

"Trump has told confidants that he will baselessly declare 'victory' on election night if it looks like he's ahead in key states, Axios reports. Trump's plan appears connected to a broader GOP strategy to undermine the election outcome by making it illegal to count votes quickly, then delegitimizing votes counted after Nov. 3. 'The Election should end on November 3rd, not weeks later!' Trump tweeted"

I'm not quite getting the whole point of this... "election." Trump has already won--not legitimately, obviously, but he's already made it abundantly clear that he will do anything and everything to ensure his victory. In fact, that is pretty much the only thing he is honest about. Well, aside from his racism, misogyny and propensity towards rape, that is.

This will be a test of the strength of the Constitution and the value of self-evident truths we hold so dear.

While noble a statement, Trump and his goons could care less about the Constitution or any values we hold. He will steal the election just like he steals everything else. Hitler has come to America.

    Election 11/2020
One thing for certain is that we are about to see what the voting public of the USA feel about Trump's presidency.
102 million votes so far and counting...

Nor should we regard opinion polls as being a good indicator of voting intentions.

The best result for the globalists - a landslide victory for Biden - has not happened. There was at least one intermediate result by at least one TV seeing Trump winning.

Plausible or not, nobody cares. What matters is that if the final victory will be declared to go to Biden the Trump supporters will not concede. The Dems will not concede any victory to Trump anyway, so that the result will be conflict. Whatever follows, almost half of the US population will think the victory has been stolen by those who end up in the White House in whatever way.

And once there will be some conflict about this, the US ends as a banana country which is not even able to properly count votes.

I suppose almost two and a half centuries of experiment were worth the effort, but since we now know democracy is not a good fit for the USA, let's move on.

Only in America would we not know who the next President of the US is on Election Day. We shouldn’t have to wait days or weeks for the final outcome, imo.

If this becomes a Supreme Court decision, I’ll lose faith in our “system.”
