According to Wikipedia, it says the first repository comes from 'European Mythology'. This comes from Peoples first hand experiences, unfortunately not recorded.

Wikipedia says, "An imp is a Europeanmythological being similar to a fairy or demon, frequently described in folklore and superstition." That hardly sounds like a reliable source of information to base a scientific experiment on.

Time to bring out the big guns, in terms of, reliable source of information to base an experiment on.

This isn't the first time 'Ghost Adventures' have recorded an Imp.

Clearly you are pulling our collective legs. You're simply acting this stupid to mess with people. Haha, good one...

Perhaps the Third experiment could be altered slightly to increase the likelihood of it's success rate.

    Apparatus
    See Through Tank
    Water access point on Premises
    Imp
    Thermal Imaging cam.

    Experiment
    Fill the Tank with Water
Look out for Dark Blue Imps in Blue Water on the Thermal cam.

Oooooooooh; This reminds me; The latest installment of Top Five Ghost hunting is now available on You Tube.

What ever will they do next???????

For the old ones here... To the tune of Rawhide.

Trolling trolling trolling, keep those posts a coming. Don't try to understand them, just stick the ads between them, and gather up the dosh at the end.

That's why it doesn't bother me, and I feel no need to address it.
    Hawki is talking tongue-in-cheek.

Scientists do science: They do not indulge in fucking fantasies by kooks.

Scarecrows are outstanding in their fields, yet there's not many Nobels going their way.
Scientists are only people, what's stopping you?
Run your ideas here for the kind of research you would like to see scientists doing. And, explain the Science behind your reasoning.

I will expect a great lengthy reply river, not just your usual pseudo-intellectual one word or one liners.
Besides, what are these ''Ghost Adventures '' doing?

I have made a revision to the Third experiment.

Fill the see through tank with, HOT, Water. Or perhaps the tank can have a built in heating device for Water.

Much easier to see Dark-Blue against Red than Dark-Blue against Blue. The only problem I can think for this, is if the Imp, for what ever reason, would avoid the hot Water.

Edit:- I just read that thermal cameras can't see through Glass. No matter, make sure the Tank is open top and point the camera down into it from above.

So, that's why I couldn't see the imp in my tank. I was using the wrong temperature water.
Note my avatar, my '' tank''. Not really a tank, I just cordoned off a part of the ocean. It costing a lot to heat up.

'No sense, crying, over every mi-stake, you just kee-pon trying, till you run out of Cake'

Ghost experiment number 4 (FAN FARE)

    Back Ground/Context
I can't recall the device's name, but a ghost hunting device exists where a Ghost can physically trace their finger on an interactive screen which then digitally highlights the trail of motion. One side of the screen had the word Yes, and the other had the word No. Ghosts make things cold. Ghosts can appear in Mirrors.

    Apparatus
Take a Glass Panel. (Preferably one the Ghost is said to already have appeared in) Steam up the Glass. (Kettle seems the easiest root) and have a Mirror handy.

    The Experiment
Ask the Ghost if it's there, then, if writing may appear, use a Mirror to reverse the writing back to our Dimension.

    Experiment

Ask the ghost to reverse what they physically have done .

All your proposals for experiments seem to hinge on first successfully communicating with a ghost, then having them understand you and then asking the ghost to show itself.

That seems to be lot like this:
"Let's do an experiment to see of Phlogiston exists! Step one: get a bucketful of Phlogiston. Step two: ..."

That's already been done. A ghost will set off a proximity machine, then step away from it on command.
