While that might sound misanthropic I prefer to keep my distance from most people in general.

Me and other people don't exactly get along.

Since high school I have a long history of being abused so if you got to live the life that I lived then you will see why I don't like society in general.

Some people were very cruel to me and especially some people on the Internet.

I might get a dog one day, but otherwise I prefer to keep distance from people and I think i'll be doing alright.

If you can afford a medium-large sized dog, get a Labrador. The greatest companion dog you can find.

No problem at all. Do whatever makes you feel best.

Can we hope that this means you will now stop complaining about not being able to find girlfriends?
Then best stay off the Internet.

I usually end up in deep and prolonged discussion about the history and benefits of each particular flavor .
I even suggested to place and extra table with seats so people could "taste" at their leisure. It just doesn't seem right to taste gourmet fast food while standing or without a beverage to rinse the pallet......

Look at you, being all extroverted. Lol I agree, I’m not a fan of standing around, chewing in front of the sales person as they ask me if I like said sample with my mouth full. I usually buy whatever it is they’re selling to be nice, though.

I’d say work-related situations come to mind. Pre-Covid, if coworkers invited me out for dinner or drinks after work, it didn’t come naturally to join them because I don’t “recharge” in that way. If I could have an hour to myself after work, before joining them, I’d be fine with that, if that makes sense.

An extrovert doesn’t usually respond in that way; they enjoy constant stimulation from others, even after a stressful day at work. It’s how they “recharge.”

I've been known to walk into a club or bar, order a schooner, and remark to the bloke next to me, nice day for a beer matey! or nice day for a beer love, whatever the case may be. On other occasions, I'll grab a chair by myself and contemplate whatever I feel like contemplating.

Some people are arseholes...some are diamonds!
Perhaps if you would have stood up for yourself, things may have been different. My first bullying experience was many many years ago at about the age of 9 or 10?, when I finally got myself a "coca cola badge" the rage at the time, and my Mum and Dad being rather "just living above the breadline" I was probably the last kid in the class to get one. Typically in our class, we had this big bloke, renowned as the class bully, but up till this day in question, didn't really worry me much. Knock off time came and as I was walking down the school yard with my globite school case, this arsehole bully, came up behind me, grabbed my badge off my lapel, and threw it on top of the church confessional, and stood there laughing. I wasn't laughing and immediatley swung my globite school case with all my might, at his head...down he went, bleeding from the side of the face. At the same time, the head Brother walked out and grabbed both of us, took us into a classroom, asked me what happened, and then patted me on the head and sent me home. The bully in the meantime was receiving medical attention. He never bothered me again.

A dog is a great companion and also a great talking piece when taking it for a walk. I have had a Labrador, German Shepherd, two Rottweillers, and my parents bread miniature Dachsunds in the latter parts of their life. I now have two black and tan miniature short-haired Dachys.

I think I would be both

haha! I am an introvert, when depression and anxiety kick in - I intend to be alone and prefer to be alone.
I am an extrovert - when I get elated with things. So, I think it is possible to be both.

technically(the technical real meaning of the terms)
its a bit different from how most people think it means

if you gain internal happiness from internal aspects
    then you are introverted

if you require external process through other people
then you are defined as an extrovert

99% of people who use the terms do not understand the real meaning or if they are an extrovert or introvert

    and...
    common social behaviors are tools
we can only do what we have been trained to do
and we all share common aspects of human behavior and thinking

a group of happy people can be happy
or it can be insanity for a paranoid schizophrenic
driving them to murder or suicide or both

    when you are feeling down
do really happy people annoy you ? (that's common but not everyone is the same)
    when you are really happy
does a depressed person really annoy you ?(that is also common but not every body is the same)

in reality human science is very complicated
people feeling like they obtain some form of self awareness and self control by associating a single word to their personal aspects gives them a feeling of self control
    that's good
    even if its not real
drugs and placebos are critically important
same with escapism and fantasy and make believe

    humans are complicated
(my questions are thinking points, do not feel obliged to answer)

    How would you classify "clowns"?
AFAIK, many clowns are depressed individuals (introvert?)

I don't think that's uncommon really, to sometimes ''feel'' a little bit of both.

In general, introverts ''recharge'' best when they are alone. Example, I don't like hanging out with coworkers after work, but don't mind meeting up a few hours once work has finished. I need that time to myself to unwind and...''recharge.'' But, extroverts nearly thrive off the company of others, and recharge that way. I'm a pretty social person, but on my terms...extroverts seem to not need as much alone time before socializing. There's no hard and fast ''rules,'' but that's the general traits of both.

I'm an ENTP, which is why I'm here discussing random stuff with random strangers. It is possible to be 50% E and 50% I, but I would say that it is very rare, and that it is highly likely that any person will have a large preference for one of them. You probably don't have a very large preference for either E or I.
